3. Hello readers, my name is Destani Gourdine and I am the creator
and editor in chief of Bohemian Bliss magazine. Since I was younger , I knew
I wanted to create. I wasn't sure about the specifics of my creation but I knew
it would be fashion related. I always had an eye for design and detail. After
years of hard work and dedication, I was able to create the magazine of my
dreams. A magazine centered around a lifestyle that I live and that I am su-
per passionate about.
Bohemian Bliss is for modern millennials who aspire to live by a bo-
hemian lifestyle or who already do. They care about the latest bohemian
trends, festivals and activities and traditional bohemian beliefs and practices.
In simpler terms, anything that includes the word “Bohemian” they want to
know about. The magazine is a fusion of fashion and lifestyle tips for Bohe-
mian lovers. This fusion together creates for the perfect informative and fun

People has launched their new
exclusive resort 2018 collection.
The collection is called “ Pretty
Practical” and it focuses on util-
ity dressing with feminine ac-
cents.
The color palette for this collection
includes, a variety of muted earth
tones in many shades. We’re see-
ing lots of cream, dark gray, dusty
brown, olive green and mustard
yellow. In the “Pretty Practical”
editorial were seeing a diverse mix
of naturally beautiful woman,
soaking up the sun on a warm
beach. The woman relaxed, nour-
ished and at peace with them-
selves. Each image flows right into
the next, capturing every detail of
the collection and the beautiful
scenery.
This collection reflects a modern
approach of 21st century bo-
hemian fashion.
It’s simple and modest but very loose
with boho chic feels like traditional Bo-
hemian style. Bohemian style has for
over 200 years been an exotic alterna-
tive to the accepted fashions of a given
period. Generally associated with art-
ists, writers, and intellectuals, bohe-

“Where music comes to life”
Bohemian Nights is Philadel-
phia’s annual three-day music
festival held each July at Spruce
Street Harbor Park. The 2018
festival will take place Jul. 10, 11
and 12. In addition to a large
Philadelphia lineup, three re-
nowned headliners anchor main
stage performances each night.
The annual festival is produced in
collaboration with the Cross-
roads Music Association. This
free community music festival
features a variety of genres and
includes a family-centered Kids’
Music Adventure. In addition to
music and entertainment offer-
ings, the festival features more
than 250 art, specialty and food
booths. The 2018 lineup will be
announced this summer at
(www.at.new.philly.fest).
Kids Music Adventure is the in-
teractive kids portion of Bohe-
mian Nights.
In the left section of the park,
kids will interact with real in-
struments, enjoy live music
performances, and build their
own instruments. This area will
also include activities, games
and a wide assortment of deli-
cious treats. This festival is a
great start to a wonderful sum-
mer for you and your children.

Bohemian style, now referred
to as “boho chic”, has come
down through history, reappear-
ing as beatnik style and in the
hippie culture of the 1960s. The
bohemians as a counterculture,
appeared in France after the
French Revolution. This cul-
ture began when artists were de-
prived of a system, where
wealthy clients bought works of
art. Artists were then plunged in-
to poverty, which really started
the bohemian movement.
Many artists took up a nomadic
life style, lived cheaply and wore
unconventional clothing. Bohe-
mian style evolved into a cult of
the individual; a person whose
very appearance became a work
of art with creatively planned
outfits and accessories. The word
“bohemian” suggested a sense
of arcane enlightenment, sexual
freedom, and spiritual nesting.
Today, bohemians stand out in
crowds representing a colorful
counterculture based on crea-
tivity, freedom, and an indif-
ference to social structures and
traditions. The present-day bo-
hemian girl represents a free
spirit, who is well-cultured,
loves to travel, and is known as
adventurous because of her
clothing choices and her life-
style.

modern usage “ Bohemian” de-
scribes any person who lives an
unconventional artistic life.,
where self expression is the
highest value: ( art, acting,
painting, poetry, writing, danc-
ing , singing and etc.) are all
central parts of bohemian life-
styles. A bohemian lifestyle gen-
erally involves freedom from so-
cial restraints, explaining why
most bohemians are non-
conformists.

question but have you eaten any
“traditional” bohemian meals?
If so which one and would you

Dear S.J.: Bring on the ran-
domness! I’m a huge foodie, so
this is really fun to answer .
Yes! I have tried a couple of
traditional bohemian meals,
but my ultimate favorite is the
bohemian platter in “Central
Prague” Europe. This platter
consists of roast duck and
pork, beer sausage, smoked
meat, red and white cabbage,
bread, bacon and potato
dumplings. This is a well
known bohemian recipe and it
is delicious.

With the emerge of fast afford-
able fashion and online shop-
ping, you can pretty much find
bohemian clothes anywhere
for reasonable prices. A few of
my favorite online stores that
have great prices and a wide
selection of bohemian styles
are Milanoo.com, Shein.com,
and Venus.com. I recently just
bought 3 tops and a dress from
Shein.com for a total of 65 dol-
lars. This store offers a lot of
promotions and deals, that re-
ally help you budget your
spending. Definitely check
