of service agreements and in-house operations

 Biomedical engineering department also fill other
important functions in assuring that the medical
equipment is safe and effective. These functions
include participation in the planning process and in
the assessment of new technology

advances patient care by applying engineering and
managerial skills to health care.
 The Biomedical engineering department also
assists or give their opinion regarding
specifications for the replacement or purchasing of
new equipment, the monitoring of contracts from
companies who provide services to the Prathima
Institute of Medical Sciences and the evaluation of
equipment on trial
 As part of the recommendations from the
accreditation standards, where ever possible,
traceable records of service carried out on
equipment by in house engineers or companies are
maintained by biomedical engineering department.

