2. OUR FEATURE PROJECT:
The Advanced Technology Center is a $35 million,
93,500 square foot LEED GOLD trans forma ve facili-
ty embracing a philosophy grounded in innova ve
partnerships cross key sectors of business, industry,
government and educa on within a “future-forward”
framework facility dedicated to driving and acceler-
a ng the regional economic growth by fostering
partnerships across business, industry, government
and educa on.
The 3-story facility is the campus’s most energy
efficient building and is designed to LEED Gold
standards. The most striking features of the
buildings electrical design are the roof top solar pan-
els and the three roof top wind turbines, all designed
to supplement the 3000 amp, 480Volt, 3 phase
distribu on system through a grid- e network.
ON THE ROOF...
Three - 1KW wind turbines feeding the wind power
classroom (on the roof level) and 20KW of solar
power feeding the solar power classroom (on the
roof level) , a green roof with pedestrian walkways,
and a outdoor dining /event center.
OUTSIDE...
Solar-powered electric-vehicle charging stations
under a canopy of solar panels.
INSIDE...
A small business development center which empha-
sizes alternative energy, culinary arts program with a
full commercial demonstration kitchen, architecture,
and computer and music technology classrooms
supported by technology-enhancements and sup-
ported by energy-efficient LED lighting, and an en-
ergy management system that controls lighting and
temperature based on occupancy.
5. BYRAM SWINGING BRIDGE LIGHTING
BYRAM, MISSISSIPPI
The Old Swinging Bridge at Byram, Mississippi
has been a landmark since it was completed
in 1905. It was privately constructed, and was
immediately condemned by the highway de-
partment as soon as it was put into use, how-
ever, it carried traffic for 82 years. Hinds
County restored this facility as a footbridge in
2013. BLV Professional Engineers was select-
ed by Civil Tech, Inc. to design a under-bridge
conduit system and a ligh ng system for the
walkway and park site.
6.
This is a $14.3 million, 21,058 square foot
design/build project completed in 2012. The
new BEQ houses 332 students at Corry’s Center
for Informa on Dominance (CID) “A” School.
The facility includes 166 bedrooms on 4 floors,
an administra ve area, laundry on 4 floors,
lounge and vending areas. The electrical system
consists of a 3000 amp 208Y/120 volt system
serving all mechanical and electrical systems.
The new $30 million , 88,000 square foot Maneu-
ver Ba le Lab at Fort Benning is a construc ve
environment simula on facility which includes a
200-person classroom and mul ple large and
small simula on bays that can be networked and
reconfigured to address the requirements of the
training simula ons. Berry Veney designed the
electrical systems for the facility which includes a
4000 amp, 480 volt distribu on system, complete
with all conduits and conductors. Two 1100KVA
UPS systems were installed to back up the en re
telecommunica ons system and a ligh ng pro-
tec on system was designed and installed to
meet the requirements of NFPA 780.

Westmoreland legal firm. The facility incorporates a 100% LED ligh ng system controlled with a nLight control system for sys‐
tem wide control and versa lity. A 150 KW natural gas generator mounted on the roof backs up all of the technology systems
and provides emergency power to the life safety systems.
COMMERCIAL PROJECTS
BLV Professional Engineers de‐
signed the electrical systems for
the new VPauls Italian Restaurant
venue in downtown Pensacola.
The project was a renova on of
an exis ng kitchen supply busi‐
ness in a historic structure located
on Pensacola’s Palafox Street.
In 2014, BLV Professional Engineers designed
the electrical systems for a new Yellow
Springs Microbrewery located in Yellow
Springs, Ohio. Larry Damico, project architect,
emailed photos of the electrical systems of
the old train warehouse to our office in
Pensacola, and through the use of Google
Maps, we were able to design the new service
and electrical systems without physically
visi ng the site.
9. 2ND STREET PUBLIC MARKET

renovated structure adds to its ecological appeal by making new
