As mandated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), this year the Vigilance Awareness
Week (VAW) will be observed based on the theme “भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त भारत – विकसित भारत /
Corruption free India for a developed Nation”. VAW 2022 will be observed across the country
from 31st October to 6th November 2022. The Vigilance Department will be organising host of
events for employees pan India and will also conduct outreach programs in association with

EDITORIAL
2. The 106th Annual General Meeting of our Company was held on 27th September, 2022. In view of the
COVID-19 pandemic, like the last year, this year too the AGM was conducted virtually. The virtual
meeting enhanced the participation of shareholders and provided a good opportunity for the Board of
Directors to interact with them. The Meeting was presided over by Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar, C&MD and
was attend by all Functional Directors, Government Nominee Directors and Independent Directors
along with Company Secretary and members of the Finance Team over the virtual platform. A press
meet was organised at the Corporate Office in Kolkata after the AGM, in which C&MD interacted with
the local media. Balmer Lawrie recorded net turnover of Rs. 210484.97 lakhs during Financial Year
2021-22 as against Rs.159276.79 lakhs in Financial Year 2020-21, which is an increase of
approximately 32.15% over last year. The Company recorded a Profit Before Tax of Rs.17014.45 lakhs
in Financial Year 2021-22 as against Rs.15664.97 lakhs in Financial Year 2020-21. The increase is
attributable to the easing out effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the performance of SBU: Travel and
Vacations, which was severely affected in FY 2020-21 due to the same.

of the Committee on Public Undertakings. On 22nd September, Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar, C&MD, Mr. R M
Uthayaraja, Director [Manufacturing Businesses] and Mr. Saurav Dutta, VP [A&F] presented the key
business highlights to the Committee chaired by Mr. Sushil Kumar Singh (MP) along with other MPs
and delegates from the Secretariat.
Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar, Chairman & Managing Director was honoured as part of “CEO Felicitation for
building Future Leaders” at the Awards function of 31st World HRD Congress and 17th Employer
Branding Awards - Best Employer 2022-2023 held on 8th September 2022 in Taj Bengal, Kolkata. He
was conferred the “CEO with Future Orientation” award. C&MD also received the “Eastern India Best
Employer Brand” award for our Company.
4. Mr. R M Uthayaraja, Director [Manufacturing Businesses] visited Northern Region Office, Okhla, New
Delhi on 15th September 2022 and interacted with the employees there.

5. Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated with much fervour in the offices and plants of the Eastern Region
and in Greases & Lubricants - Silvassa on 17th September 2022.
Industrial Packaging – Navi Mumbai played host to Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Independent Director of our
Company on 14th September 2022. During his visit, he went around the plant, including the shop floor,
observed the manufacturing operations and interacted with the Executives and Officers. He also
planted a sapling in the plant premises.
6. Greases & Lubricants – Silvassa was recognised by the Sayli Gram Panchayat for maintaining the unit
as one of the cleanest plants in Sayli Village during Swacchta Mahostav.

It’s always a good practice to take backup of your data
The backup will be necessary in case of Software or Hardware failure /
accidental damage / deletion of files by mistake / theft etc.
To facilitate this, Corporate IT is implementing VEEAM - Backup Software in all Laptops / Desktops.
VEEAM will take a backup of your data (working files like Word / Excel / Power Point / Text etc.) and
store a copy safely in the Server. Corporate IT has been conducting online awareness programs for
employees starting September 2022.
Veeam will take a backup of all working files from the following directories only when the endpoint is
connected to office network / VPN:
• Desktop
• My Documents
• D:Druva & D:BLBackup
• E:Druva & E:BLBackup
• F:Druva & F:BLBackup
• G:Druva & G:BLBackup
Users are requested to keep all important working files within these directories, as this software will
not backup the files from other locations.
Veeam does not take a backup of your email (.OST / .PST). Users are requested to use IMAP protocol
for keeping their email data safe.

7. To promote Hindi as the official language, ‘Hindi Pakhwada’ was organised from 14th to 30th September
2022. A host of events like Hindi / English translation, Hindi e-mail, extempore, tagline, short-story
telling, and Hindi song competitions were organised for the employees. A Hindi workshop was also
organised for Eastern Region employees. The fortnight was celebrated across all offices, units and
establishments of Balmer Lawrie. Various competitions were also organized for family members of
employees at G&L and IP - Silvassa. Winners of various competitions were given prizes and a Hindi
quiz was also organized during the closing ceremony of the Hindi Pakhwada at the Corporate Office.

Mr. Lalit Kumar joined Industrial Packaging - Asaoti as Manager
[Manufacturing] on 1st September 2022.
pLalit Kumar is a Mechanical Engineer with an ardent interest in the industrial work
environment. He has learnt the principles of mechanical engineering that are
applicable to most machines, tools and processes and started his career with
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), a Public Sector Enterprise. He worked there
for more than 9 years in multidisciplinary cross functional areas. He also has
immense interest in Oil / Gas Hydraulics system viz. Hydraulics presses and hot
rolling / extrusion process. He has hands-on experience in ERP systems and spares
/ contracts management system. He is adept at analysing and interpreting the
materials related to contractual stipulations and established Governmental laws and
procedures. He belongs to the state of Haryana where agricultural prosperity is
founded on spirituality and his family is also involved in agricultural activities. He is
married. His wife is working in HSSPP and they have an adorable son, Advik. Lalit is
very excited to join Balmer Lawrie and is hopeful that he will be able to align with
the overall goals of the Company.

Mr. Dinoh Gurumoorthy joined Travel & Vacations - Chennai as Manager
[Retail Sales] on 28th September 2022.
Dinoh is 37 years old, young and energetic, and belongs to Chennai. Born in
Pondicherry and brought up in different parts of India (Pondicherry, Chennai,
Delhi, Hyderabad), he finally landed in Chennai for his professional career. He has
completed his Masters in MBA from NITHM - Hyderabad and his Graduation from
SRM Institute of Hotel Management – Chennai. In his 13 years of experience in the
travel industry, he worked with various travel companies like SOTC, Thomas Cook,
Yatra.com and Club7 Holidays Pvt. Ltd. He is currently in the Chennai branch of
Vacations as Manager [Retail Sales]. He has travelled across the country before
joining the industry as a sportsman. He is a professional hockey player trained
under 'Air India Hockey Academy', New Delhi and Sports Authority of India,
Chennai. As a hockey player, he played for various Government teams as guest
player for eg. RBI, SBI, TNEB ect. Traveling has been a part and parcel of his life
for the last 20 years. A passionate traveller, he has travelled across different
places in India 'just to eat'. He loves to ride and drive, travel to new places and try
various Indian cuisines.
Mr. Premkumar A joined Logistics Services - Bengaluru as Junior Officer
[Operations] on 19th September 2022.
Premkumar is from Chennai. He completed his graduation in commerce from the
University of Madras. He started his career in Logistics as an Apprenticeship trainee
in Balmer Lawrie and later joined Seaways Supply Chain Pvt. Ltd. and worked there
for 2 years. His father and mother are his inspiration, and their support and
motivation has made him what he is today. In his leisure time, he listens to music,
and plays cricket and volleyball. He wants to be successful and thrive in Balmer
Lawrie.
Mr. Dhinesh H joined Chemicals - Manali, Chennai as Manager [Production]
on 16th September 2022.
Dhinesh has completed his Graduation in Science in 2012 from C Abdul Hakeem
College, Ranipet, Tamil Nadu. He started his career at Biocon as a Junior Executive
in the Production Department. Owing to his hard work and excellent performance,
he was promoted to Senior Executive there. He worked in Biocon for over 9 years.
He then moved to his hometown Ranipet and joined Malladi Drugs and
Pharmaceutical Ltd. where he worked for 4 months. He is happy that he has got the
opportunity to work with Balmer Lawrie. He is a self-motivated person and is eager
to learn different things. He believes that he is an emotional person and easily
trusts people but now he is trying to overcome these weaknesses. His long term
goal is to focus on personal and professional growth and achieve a higher position
in a reputed Company like Balmer Lawrie. He wants to build his career and make
positive contribution to the Company. His favorite quote is, "Arise Awake and stop

Mr. Hemal Chauhan joined Industrial Packaging - Taloja (Navi Mumbai) as
Manager [Manufacturing] on 26th September 2022.
Hemal has done his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from BPUT University,
Odisha. He joined Balmer Lawrie as Manager (Manufacturing) in SBU: Industrial
Packaging, Taloja, Navi Mumbai. Before joining the Company, he worked with Hero
Motocorp Ltd. (Neemrana), Saint Gobain Glass India Ltd. (Bhiwadi), RLE
International (Gurgaon) and Sunmax Auto Engineering (Haridwar). He has rich
experience of 13 years in the field of operations and maintenance. He has worked
in different sectors like automobile, auto ancillaries and process industries like glass
manufacturing. He is originally from Gujarat and currently has moved to Panvel,
Mumbai from Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. He lives with his parents, his wife, who is a
B.Tech Engineer and has worked as a teacher and his 6-year old daughter. His
daughter is a quick learner and she loves dancing and singing. In his free time, he
likes to go on long drives and to explore new places. He loves playing cricket and
chess.
