Blade Runner is a 1982 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford. It takes place in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2019 where genetically engineered replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from humans, are slaves used off-world. When some replicants begin to display independent and aggressive behavior, a police squad known as "Blade Runners" are tasked with hunting down and killing rogue replicants.
