The Karabatak is Turkey's largest seabird, with a dark coloration, small wings, and very long tail. It can grow up to 100cm tall and weigh 2-2.5kg, with white spots on its breast. Known as an excellent fisher, it can hold its breath underwater for long periods to find food easily. The Karabatak lays 3-4 eggs once per year and incubates them for 29-31 days, located primarily around the Black Sea, Marmara region, and along coasts of the Atlas Ocean and North America.
