Course Description:
The course aims to provide even the students with basic information necessary to discuss biotechnology and make their own
assessment of the benefits and risks of biotechnology products. This course offers a wide array of learning activities (e.g.
discussion-based lectures (synchronous), computer simulations, infographics making) to cater multiple intelligences. These
learning activities are carried out in a flexible/blended format, and the course content and learning materials are accessible
through the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) provided by the University. For the laboratory, 1 lab exam and 3 lab
activities will be an important submission for this course.

13. Attendance
1. All students enrolled in Biosci 3 are encouraged to attend all
synchronous meetings.
2. Attendance will be checked for each virtual meetings.
3. Students who fail to accomplish 70% of the assessment tasks
will have a final grade of DRP
Note: For absences with valid reasons, kindly provide proof of
absence.

14. Class Conduct and Ethics
1.All students are encouraged to read the topics in
advance.
2.Always listen to the discussion. Take notes.

15. Other policies
1.All requirements (Quizzes, Assignments, Lab
activities) must be submitted on the date provided
as the deadline. Beyond the said time frame is a
deduction of 20% of the total score.
e.g. Total score 20/20 minus 20% = 16/20
2.Any form of cheating with your classmates will
not be tolerated and observe proper “netiquette”.

16. How to pass this subject?
1.Pass all the Major examinations
2.Submit all requirements (Quizzes, Assignments,
Lab Activities/Reports, etc.)
3.Hard work, diligence and perseverance

17. How to avoid getting an INC?
1.Incomplete grade (INC) can only be given to
students with passing grade but missed to submit
a class requirement.
2.You can only be given an INC thru following:
 Missed to take 1 major examination
 Missed to submit laboratory activities

18. Removal Examination
1.Removal Examination will be given only to
students who acquired an “almost passing grade”
Example: FG of 57% - 59%
2. NO STUDENT CAN TAKE A REMOVAL EXAM IF
HIS/HER FG IS BELOW THE SAID CUT OFF.
STUDENTS GARNERED FG BELOW THE RANGE
WILL BE GIVEN A FAILING GRADE (5.0)
