Binge drinking is defined as consuming five or more drinks for men or four or more drinks for women over the course of about two hours. It can also be defined as having three or more binge drinking episodes within two weeks. Teenagers may be tempted to binge drink due to peer pressure or curiosity, but binge drinking can have serious negative health consequences both short-term like hangovers and vomiting as well as long-term risks like high blood pressure, weight gain, and poorer academic performance including dropping out of high school.
