2. OVERVIEW
BIGKIS KABABAIHANG PILIPINA, INC (BIGKIS)
is a new grown Women’s organization in the Phil’s.
Leading gender equality advocacy group.
BIGKIS believes in the equal opportunities in education,
marriage and employment.
BIGKIS is dedicated to remove gender-based
barriers.
BIGKIS is determine to provide a feminist perspective in
the local or Barangayan and national dialogue.
3. BIGKIS is a not-for-profit organization. We are
funded by donations, grants and membership
voluntary contributions.
Since its formation in 2010, BIGKIS has carried out
numerous projects We are also committed to tackle
issues affecting women, including workplace
sexual harassment, poverty of older women and
Philippine compliance or V.A.W.C. w/ UN anti-gender
discrimination standards.
4. VISION
A Women’s Organization espousing a genuine
gender equality – where women and men are
treated and valued equally in exercising their
freedom of choices about a just and God Fearing
family lives.
5. MISSION
The BIGKIS KABABAIHANG PILIPINA, INC. aims
to represent issues on: education, empowerment
and full representation. Increase awareness of
discrimination and harassment on the basis of
physical sex, sexual orientation, gender identity,
religion and political views. We envisioned to
provide a support network to individuals and
forums for confidential and public discussion. We
intend to serve as a progressive voice and to provide
support for women and members of both our
organization and the community. We are focused on
bringing awareness to the many social inequalities
in our society that includes Child Protection issues

•Research and Advocacy
•Education and training
•Support Services & Outreach Program
7. History
In late 2010, a group of 5 women who had taken part in
the barangay election of barangay congress 173
decided they needed to do more than just listen to
speeches of newly elected officials about VAWC issues
in the society. They felt what was needed was a
women’s group able to campaign for gender equality in
a coherent and consistent way, basing its arguments
on research and a thorough understanding of the
issues.
8. We officially came into being on December 10, 2010.
