The document discusses possible anatomical similarities between Bigfoot and prehistoric hominids. It compares Bigfoot to Gigantopithecus, suggesting Bigfoot could be a descendant of that giant ape that migrated to North America. However, it notes Gigantopithecus would have struggled in Bigfoot's reported temperate forest habitat. It also compares Bigfoot to Neanderthals, proposing Neanderthals could have survived in small isolated populations. Ultimately, the author concludes there is no compelling evidence that proves Bigfoot's existence.

Bigfoot, and it’s anatomical similarities to prehistoric
1. Bigfoot, and it’s anatomical
similarities to prehistoric hominids
Alex Beegle
2. Introduction
• I have chosen to narrow down the topic of my research
presentation to a more clear subject- -what prehistoric apes, be
they early human or towering giant, is the crypto zoological
creature “Bigfoot” most similar to in terms of physical structure and
function. Each slide will show a side by side comparison between
the given species and the sasquatch. The reasoning behind this is
that the elusive legend is likely a relict, nearly nonexistent remnant
or relative of a species deemed extinct. If it does in fact exist, this
would be a logical conclusion to reach, being that the creature fits
the description of pre historic animals more than anything currently
living.
This whole presentation in in reference to the north American
Bigfoot, not the yeti, or other cryptid apes found in other parts of
the world.
3. Who is Bigfoot
• If you don’t already know, Bigfoot is a large
humanoid ape living in the temperate forests of
north America. Reportedly standing anywhere
from 6 to 10 feet in height, the creature is
covered in thick fur. Some reports and evidence
portray him with a more chimpanzee like face,
while others are described as very human. The
dilemma is this: the is a cryptid, which means as
you’re probably aware of, his existence is not
proven.
4. Gigantopithecus
• Gigantopithecus was a massive ape that lived in the jungles of southeast
Asia, it is said to have died out around 100,000 years ago, but the bigfoot-
giganto theory suggests that bigfoot may be a modern relative of this real
life king Kong, which migrated over the bearing straight land bridge into
north America, adapted to the climate, and still lives here in small
populations to this day.
• This theory would support bigfoot being very large in size, to measure up
to the great Asian ape , it would have to be around 9 feet tall. This size
would be inconvenient in this type of forest, resulting in an eventual
evolutionary downsizing. This also would mean bigfoot would be leaning
towards a less human-like appearance. Giganto resembled a massive red
gorilla, so this would mean longer, larger arms used for moving around on
all fours, as well as a more ape-like face and overall body structure.
• This seems like a logical idea in some regards, but when it comes down to
it, this type of massive ape would have a hard time thriving in the
temperate, mountainous regions where most reporting occur.
5. Primitive Man
• The only logical conclusion in relation to this theory would be relict
Neanderthal man, who also would have migrated over the bearing
land bridge from Scandinavia (only if they made it that far east). The
reason I say Neanderthal and not earlier species is because a)
they’re to physically small to match the reports of bigfoot and b)
they died out too long ago. An intelligent species like Neanderthal
surviving in small numbers in the isolated parts of the world would
not be impossible, though highly improbable. I do not believe this
to be the more sound theory, but it is still interesting nonetheless.
This would make sense in relation to the more man-like reports, of
hairy people in the woods. Neanderthal had an anatomical
structure that was shorter wider, and more durable than that of
Homo-sapiens, and over the course of the last thousand years,
could have developed into something that looks more like a bigfoot.

8. Conclusion
• Through research, I have done quite the opposite
of what had foreseen, I went from a believer, to
something close to a non-believer. I enjoyed
looking into these very fun and interesting
possibilities, but both are very unlikely, and if
remains have never been found, the species has
never been taken alive, and only a few blurry
photos have been shot, I see no reason to believe
they exist. The part I enjoy, Is that once upon a
time, something very similar to them did walk
this earth, and that’s an amazing thing to think
about.
