Remote working benefits both employers and employees in several ways. Employees prefer remote work because it improves work-life balance by eliminating commutes, allows for flexible schedules, and creates a more comfortable work environment. Employers also see benefits like increased productivity and loyalty among remote workers, lower turnover, and reduced costs from less office space usage and equipment. Studies show remote workers are 35-40% more productive and companies can save an average of $11,000 annually per remote employee in reduced real estate needs.
Project Analysis on reason for attrition in an IT/ ITes industryvinyas87
This document summarizes the findings of a project analysis conducted by Group 12 on employee attrition across various companies. They interviewed 50 respondents from 11 different companies across various roles. They analyzed the data collected to test 5 hypotheses: 1) People don't always leave for higher salary, 2) Work experience is affected by career growth, 3) Medical allowances help retention, 4) Age affects number of company changes, 5) Gender does not impact attrition. Their key findings were that attrition is highly correlated to age but least to gender, high experience at low age can be risky, and degrees like BE, BCom, MBA, MCom were most likely to shift jobs.
Turning Critical Regulatory Findings Into Enterprise Organizational WinsAndrew Ames
The document discusses how regulatory demands and data growth are challenging organizations. There has been an 8x increase in compliance mandates and a 50x explosion in managed data. This is creating a hybrid IT environment. The document recommends that organizations take a risk-based approach to identity and access management to improve visibility, strengthen controls, reduce compliance costs and improve decision making.

This document discusses treating cybersecurity risks like public health issues by collecting and analyzing cyber threat data. It proposes adopting approaches used by Patient Safety Organizations (PSOs) that collect medical error data to identify risks. PSOs analyze error sources, propose prevention methods, and raise awareness. Similarly, the document argues, cyber risk intelligence programs should collect online data on cyber attacks, standardize it, analyze trends to manage organizational and supply chain risks, and educate stakeholders. It promotes the speaker's company, SurfWatch Labs, as providing a solution to bridge tactical cybersecurity and strategic insights through real-time healthcare cyber reports and samples.
When data that is critical to cybersecurity tools remains in silos, everyone loses. This siloed approach diminishes the value of the data and leaves organizations with incomplete visibility, significant management overhead, and uncertainty about which security tools are actually necessary to ingest and analyze the data to protect the business.
These slides--based on the webinar--help answer the following questions:
- Which cybersecurity tools are necessary for full internal and external coverage, and which are redundant or outdated?
-What are the signs that a vendor can back up their promises, or that they’re exaggerating their product’s capabilities?
-How can you leverage machine learning to reduce security response time?
- How can you combine the strengths of a big data model with adaptive machine learning for more accurate, effective security protection and detection capabilities?
Working with agile in a waterfall environment wwpJoseph Flahiff
This document discusses a case study of a large health insurance provider that used Agile methods for a high-risk, complex project to build a health cost estimator, despite the organization typically using a Waterfall approach. The project involved 5 Scrum teams building the estimator over 3 years with a budget of $8.5 million. Using Agile allowed the project to explore risks in increments, deliver the most important features first, have 4 major releases, and develop a 1 1/2 year product roadmap. As a result, the project was completed on time and budget and received an award, demonstrating how Agile can work for complex, high-risk projects even in mostly Waterfall organizations.

Environmental Compliance Audits - Cheap Insurance Against Regulatory Entangle...Larry Falbe
This document provides an overview of environmental compliance audits (ECAs) and their benefits. ECAs assess a facility's compliance with environmental regulations to avoid penalties from violations. While ECAs require paying consultants and lawyers, they provide a "cheap insurance policy" against costly regulatory issues. The document explains how ECAs are performed, including using attorneys to protect audit results from disclosure and consultants to inspect facilities and review documentation. ECAs can identify compliance issues to correct quietly or through voluntary self-disclosure programs, which reduce penalties. The document distinguishes ECAs from Phase I assessments, which evaluate property for real estate transactions rather than ensuring ongoing compliance.

Данная концепция носит предварительный характер, окончательная версия будет утверждена официальным решением компании «Русские имена».
Запуск домена .РУС будет включать в себя несколько этапов:
- предварительное резервирование и блокировка
- приоритетная регистрация (Sunrise)
- премиальная регистрация (Landrush)

Leveraging the Internet of Things to Improve Patient OutcomesAlex Taser
This public thought leader dialogue reinforced that we are in midst of a technology-enabled revolution in healthcare. A world of IoT sensors and the Big Data it enables has the power to personalize and improve care, predict conditions, and enable access and affordable service to previously under-reached communities.
Rather than a sci-fi fantasty, the future of IoT healthcare is already here. While fractured, the technology exists and its capabilities are growing exponentially. The success in ensuring patient health and empowerment hinges on our ability to shift the culture of care, rethink incentives, collaborate across systems, and put the patient voice at the center of it all.
The document discusses how an Internet of Things think tank explored how IoT solutions can improve patient outcomes. Key findings included that connected devices have the potential to benefit patients and providers through predictive analytics, personalized care, improved efficiency and speed of care, and remote patient monitoring. Participants noted big data is important but also raises security and data ownership issues. Ensuring positive outcomes requires collaboration across healthcare stakeholders, putting patients' needs and preferences first, and focusing on ongoing health rather than just care when sick.
The document discusses a collaboration between several organizations including healthcare providers, technology companies, and regulators to improve the system of spontaneous adverse event reporting. They aim to demonstrate that utilizing standardized data and new technologies can enhance data quality, reduce the burden on reporters, and ultimately benefit public health monitoring. The project calls for incorporating reporting into normal clinical workflows using structured EHR data to create safety reports.

It enables secure exchange of health information and establishes reputations as stewards of private data. The roles of IT include supporting accurate operations, quality care through reliable technology, and cost reductions through automation. IT specialists discussed include systems analysts, database managers, networking specialists and software programmers. Future IT jobs may involve areas like 3D printing, artificial intelligence and robotics. The document also lists major US and Indian healthcare information system companies.
The document discusses the need for enterprise architecture and electronic health systems in developing countries. It notes that currently many countries have fragmented and duplicative health information systems due to a lack of national eHealth policies and standards. The document advocates for adopting an enterprise architecture approach to conceive integrated eHealth systems that are interoperable and scalable. It provides definitions of key concepts like eHealth, enterprise architecture, and highlights frameworks like TOGAF that can guide the development of aligned health enterprise and information system architectures.
This document discusses ways to close collaboration gaps between healthcare providers, AI/computer scientists, and engineers. It identifies four main gaps: between data and doctors, patients and technology infrastructure, AI and implementation, and clinicians and data scientists. Closing these divides could help transform healthcare by achieving higher quality, lower costs, better access, improved experiences for providers and patients, reduced waste, and business value. The document outlines what clinicians want from technologies, different types of buyers, how collaboration can have positive impacts, and provides recommendations like establishing centers of excellence and rethinking education.
The document discusses intuitive healthcare technology and how it can be implemented effectively. It provides examples of how different organizations have used technologies like tablets, digital pens, voice recognition software and surface computing to improve clinician efficiency and patient safety and outcomes. It emphasizes the importance of selecting the right technology for the intended users and tasks, and considering a balanced approach using multiple complementary technologies instead of focusing on one platform alone.
How a Widely Distributed Dental Firm Protects Sensitive Data While Making It ...Dana Gardner
Transcript of a discussion on how a rapidly growing dental services company combined hyperconverged infrastructure with advanced security products to efficiently gain data availability, privacy, and security.
The document discusses disruptive technology, convergence, and the purpose of hospitals. It notes that disruptive technology introduces new technologies that are simpler and cheaper than existing ones but eventually disrupt the market. Technology convergence involves different technologies performing similar tasks. The document questions what disruptive technologies may benefit healthcare and examines how convergence could improve areas like nurse call systems and tracking. It explores whether the purpose of hospitals is to serve communities or provide services efficiently, and how reducing waste and barriers could help address issues like overcrowding.
The document discusses the digital health agenda and strategy for collecting, aggregating, and analyzing patient data across the NHS. It makes the following key points:
1) The NHS interacts with over 1 million patients every 36 hours, and the goal is to capture data from each interaction, convert it to digital format, and aggregate it.
2) This aggregated data can be analyzed to generate knowledge that improves patient outcomes, addresses sustainability challenges, and enhances the healthcare system.
3) A digital maturity program called "Paperless 2020" provides the strategy, which includes standards for data sharing, security, analytics and other domains to realize this vision.
This document discusses selecting and implementing an electronic medical records (EMR) system. Key points include:
- Choosing the right EMR is complex and requires expert evaluation of the hospital's needs, culture and processes. The EMR may need to be adapted to the hospital rather than forcing changes.
- Integration with other systems like lab, radiology and billing is important for clinical workflow. Standards are needed for integration and data sharing.
- A project plan is required to coordinate stakeholders and allow for iterative implementation. Change management is also needed to support clinical adoption of the new systems and processes.
- Data security, privacy and infrastructure must be addressed according to regulations like HIPAA to protect patient information in the integrated digital

How to Create a Big Data Culture in PharmaChris Waller
A talk presented at the Big Data and Analytics conference in Boston on January 28, 2014. Emphasis on data and information sharing cultures in companies.
This document discusses the potential for using mobile technology in healthcare. It argues that healthcare, like other industries, can benefit from new technologies that increase efficiency. For example, Bluetooth sensors could allow vital signs to be continuously monitored and shared instantly between doctors and nurses. However, there are also privacy and cost concerns to consider. While mobile access could improve data sharing, it also increases the risk of sensitive patient information being compromised. And updating equipment for new technologies requires financial investment. Overall, the document concludes that the technology may increase efficiency but a healthcare organization's top priority should be patient well-being and privacy.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

2. The pace of technology development
is challenged with fundamental, global issues of
complexity, privacy, ethics, and security.
Existing software architectures compete with developing
systems, and often systems cannot communicate with
one another due to differences in coding (IBM, 2012).
Our work considers how data flow operates within
existing systems and how future innovations may aid the
flow of data that is both meaningful to clinical decision
makers and practical in application.
