SUMMARY
My experiences in educational, mental health and clinical settings have
provided a diverse repertoire of educational, supervisory and research
experiences. My priority has always been student and staff success. I have
taught and supervised in a variety of educational and community based
programs, consulted and collaborated with a wide range of community
partners, piloted new programming from inception to evaluation with
success and completed independent evaluation and consultation for
families working through due process proceedings. Through these
experiences I have focused on utilizing data driven planning and decision-
making, measurable and objective short and long-term goals, continual
improvement, and an overriding focus on quality programming. Most
recently, I have been fortunate enough to work with pre-service teachers as
a tenure track, assistant professor at Slippery Rock University of PA. As an
educator and researcher, I plan to continue to present and publish locally
and internationally through this appointment. Finally, my formal education
in educational psychology and applied behavior analysis as well as my
terminal degree in educational leadership and management has given me a
solid knowledge of how to help all types of students learn effectively and
most importantly how to prepare the next generation of teachers and
clinicians to support these students, especially those affected by Autism
Spectrum Disorders and similar neurological and developmental
exceptionalities.

staff of community-based instructors over multiple summers. A major
part of the success of this program was my cultivation and securing of
mutually beneficial relationships with employers in the local
communities of these students where they are able to learn critical
vocational and life skills. I also coordinated with local education
agencies in securing financial support for this programming. This

I took this as an opportunity to apply classroom theory to their professional lives and experiences that benefits the unique needs of each student by capitalizing on their experience and background as they work toward future goals. Trainer • My primaryrole was that of a team member in life skill and autistic support classroom teachers to address challenging behaviors and facilitate effective differentiated educational programming in spite of challenging behavior adhering to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, Positive Behavior Support, and TEACCH methodologies. • I was responsible for the supervision, coordination and the ongoing training of a school based crisis response team, this pivotal role is responsible for ensuring that this team of fifteen professionals respond to crisis situations with professionalism and the upmost respect for the student in crisis. The group is regularly commended by the administration as providing effective and compassionate support for instructional teams and their students in need of crisis management services. • I specifically coordinated and supervised the implementation of a verbal behavior model of communication training within this approved private school setting, this included coordination of visiting professionals from the regarded Carbone Clinic. I was directly responsible for the supervision of teachers piloting the program, progress monitoring and systems level analysis of the effects of this process. • I played a critical role in the piloting of an innovative summer pre- vocational training program designed for transitioned age teens diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Serving as lead instructor and program coordinator in this inclusive program I have managed a staff of community-based instructors over multiple summers. A major part of the success of this program was my cultivation and securing of mutually beneficial relationships with employers in the local communities of these students where they are able to learn critical vocational and life skills. I also coordinated with local education agencies in securing financial support for this programming. This program has been very successful with plan for opening a third site this coming summer and a 300% increase in enrollment since its inception. This program is also currently being considered for replication internationally as a model for effective vocational training for students with ASD. • I have provided clinical expertise and supervision and for seven professionals completing their field experience requirement for board certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as well as clinical interns completing their American Psychological Association post doctoral fellowships. I was involved initial training, program setup as well as ongoing supervision, support and consultation with related service providers throughout the implementation of this inclusive, community based program. • I also worked in a Wrap-around program with children and families to develop interventions to address challenging behaviors and increase adaptive skills. A large portion of this position involved establishing and maintaining partnerships between community resources and families including school districts, summer programs and other community settings to ensure consistency for students across settings. • I supervised and conducted initial employee orientations and staff evaluations of instructors working directly with children in various settings as well as serving a remote site supervisor for an inclusive summer camp program. Due to the remote nature location of this program, I was solely responsible for establishing clear roles and responsibilities among staff, developing timelines for long-term student improvement goals, providing appropriate and meaningful staff developments opportunities and coordinating with community agencies.
