together storyboards, concepts,
look books and inspiration to
put the BEZAR sensibilities and
aesthetic into a manufactured
piece was one of the most
exciting highlights of my career.
My experience in senior trend
roles with big brands such as the
Gap, Marshall Fields and Kohl’s
— which gave me great insight to
whatthosewhothinkoutsidethat
circularshapedhatboxarelooking
whenaddingtotheirfashion.
Designing off the page was a
unique experience for me, having
been a print graphic design artist,
art director and creative director
for my entire life. Because of
BEZAR, I started looking around
and seeing every object, big and
small — all as something that
couldbeshaded,filledwithcolors
and used as design elements. It’s
important that it look impactful
under our stone - light filters in
underandthroughtheacrylic,and
everythingpopsbeautifully.
In December of 2014, I shared
a holiday with my good friend
Eric who implored me to reach
out to someone we shared in
common social circles, Bradford
Shellhammer. I knew of his work
with fab.com and I had seen the
beginnings of the new BEZAR
platform,soIputtheideaintothe
head of my team and asked them
to get to work. We needed some
dynamic new collections to pair
with our refreshed and refined
metalaccessories.
