Shooting Science Experiment
The purpose of my science fair was to figure out what angle in shooting will produce the most
amount of goals. First I chose which angle for shooting is more effective to produce the most
amount of goals in a game. I chose this because in my games I have found that sometimes we miss
the shots on goal, and I wanted to find a way to put an end to it. That s why I chose this for my
science experiment. My results were that the 45 degree angle proved to be the best angle for
shooting and 90 degree angle was the worst. I predicted that if I kick from the 45 degree angle it
would produce the most amount of goals. I proved my hypothesis with a score of 4 out of the five
goals. In my results I got 3.6 for the 90 degree angle. In the 45 degree angle I got 4 out of five.
Using the 0 degree angle I got 3.3 out of 5. On the 45 I got a 2.3 out of five. Lastly using the 90 I
got a 2 out of 5.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relationship is I have to keep moving the ball so I have to keep measuring the ball. That is
how they are related. Now I will discuss my experimental procedure. My procedure was this.
First I needed to measure out my angles from the penalty dot. Then I needed to kick the balls
into the goal and record my data out of five. Some of the things that may have affected my
results were that it had snowed and I had to shovel part of the field, and it may have made my tired.
Aklso that it was really cold and I may have been off my game because of

Rhetorical Analysis Of Lou Gehrig s Speech To Baseball
Seventy three years ago, on July 4th, a man whose skillset lied on the baseball field, much rather
than in speechmaking, delivered one of the most effective and inspiring speeches of all time. His
name was Lou Gehrig, and in the matter of approximately two minutes, he managed to reflect not
only his own thoughts of his disease and retirement from baseball, but also the thoughts and
mindsets of his fans and the American people during the 1930s. Lou Gehrig s farewell speech,
famously including the aforementioned quote, drew upon many rhetorical strategies in order to
convey themes and emotions that, especially during the time period, were extremely important
to his fans and all people. Gehrig heavily utilized ethos and pathos to argue his point, and it was
these two rhetorical appeals combined that allowed him to establish himself as a humble and
thankful man who considered himself nothing but lucky to have been given the opportunities in
life that he had been given. The backdrop of Lou Gehrig s speech is extremely important in
considering why his speech was so rhetorically effective. As mentioned previously, the speech
was delivered seventy three years ago, in 1939. At this time, the country was slowly recovering
from the Great Depression and war was imminent in Europe. It was a testing time for the American
people, so just to relax and enjoy themselves, people went to baseball games. People looked up to
these baseball players and it was through them that they could get

The Importance Of The Great Migration In The United States
During the Great War, industrial cities in the North and Midwest profited greatly. However due to
white men enlisting in World War I and the United States government halt on immigration from
Europe, these industrial cities experienced severe labor shortages. To fulfill these job shortages,
northern manufacturers recruited throughout the South causing what is known as The Great
Migration, where at least 500,000 African Americans moved from the South to Northern and
Midwestern cities.
After the World War I, the United Statesshould have had a time of peace and used their
experiences to break away from the old attitudes and tradition before the war, instead those who
came home reverted back to the same attitudes of racism. The tension between races increased due

Though many riots occurred in more than thirty cities throughout the United States, the worst and
bloodiest events were in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Elaine, Arkansas.
On July 17th in Washington D.C., a white men initiated a riot after hearing that a black man had
been accused of rape. They began attacking random black men, pulling them out of street cars or
just beating those on the street. This lasted four days with 6 fatalities, four white and 2 Afro
American an estimated 50 people casualties.
In Chicago July 27 of that year, a black man visiting the Lake Michigan beaches, unknowing
broke the law when he swam to the side of the beach frequented by white people, was stoned and
drowned. Since his attacker wasn t arrested due to police refusal, the following thirteen days
resulted in riots where white men demolished and burned the businesses of African Americans. By
the end of the riot, 15 whites and 23 blacks had been killed and more than 500 people injured; an

The Effect Of Heat Treatment On Manufacturing Capabilities...
Growth of any country depends upon its manufacturing capabilities. Today is world of
competitiveness. Every industry must need to increase their performance and reliability as well as
quality.Besides this one need to consider cost. Because at last cost will decide whether the thing is
of superior quality in that range. So every industry must reduce the cost of process.
Every product need to perform different functions as well as under different condition. So product
must possess different properties as per its usage.Different properties of the product will depend on
the material used. But most of function doesn t requires only one property. So product should have
bunch of properties.
Heat treatment is a group of industrial and metalworking processes used to alter the physical
properties of a material. Heat treatment is the process of treating material by heating the material up
to certain temperature and then cooling it at various cooling rates. It is noteworthy that the term heat
treatment applies only to processes where the heating and cooling are done for the specific purpose
of altering properties intentionally.
Other type of heating and cooling often occur incidentally during other manufacturing processes
such as hot forming or welding which can t be considered under heat treatment processes.By using
heat treatment process various property for same material can be achieved. This will be the
combination of properties required.

Dante Alighieri s L Inferno
Critical Analysis
Dante Alighieri s principal work, L Inferno, details the first part in his journey in life from Hell to
Purgatory to Heaven in a work of epic poetry unseen since the time of Virgil. Alighieri s purpose in
this work is to illustrate that God s judgement, and by extension God himself, is always perfect.
Dante describes this purpose through his vivid imagery, the ways in which he changes in his
journey through Hell, and the setting of Hell itself.
L Inferno is frequently praised for its images that come to life while reading. It is not difficult to
visualize the expansive mires of the River Styx, or the bleak, forlorn city of Dis, or the frigid lake
Cocytus with its icy winds gusting. Dante uses such robust writing for a purpose: ... Show more

As his journey starts in the highest levels of Hell he witnesses the sinners punishments, sadness
overtakes him. Viewing two adulterers, he exclaims: your afflictions/ move me to tears of
sorrow and pity (C. 5 L. 116 117). In acting as he does, he reveals that he is not sure that God is
acting fairly when he metes out these punishments. However, as he descends the infernal pit, he
becomes less moved by what he sees around him, becoming more convinced that God s
punishment is fair and just. In the beginning of his journey, Dante believes the punishments to
be rigidly harsh and unnecessary, but he realizes that, as Joanne Kashdan says, They are not
merely innovative, interesting, or random; they are designed to provoke thought about the
nature of each sin and vice . As he goes on, he begins to notice this, and has less pity for the
damned. In the fourth level (about midway through Hell), he gladly sees a sinner dismembered
by other spirits: I saw/ muddy sinners dismember him so/ that even now I praise god for it (C. 8
L. 58 60). Furthermore, as the book finishes, in the final level of Hell, Dante refuses to let a
spirit lament for himself, because he believes his punishment is fitting for his crime. I did not
open them [his eyes, frozen shut] for to be rude/ To such a one as him was courtesy (C. 33 L. 146
147). This evolution of Dante as the book progresses establishes the fact that as he toured the

Gay Bars And Gay Nightclubs
Introduction Since the 1930s, gay bars and gay nightclubs have been around. The bar called
White Horse, in Oakland, California, has been opened since 1933. It is known to be the first gay
bar to be opened here in America. Being gay in the 1930s was brutal. Same gender sex was a
felony, and being caught in a gaybar could cost someone their job. In a society that viewed gays
as barley human, the White Horse allowed a level of freedom that in the 1940s or 1950s was
liberating (Duffy 2016). With time changes and people being more accepted, gay bars and gay
nightclubs started opening all across America. One of the many gay nightclubs here in Denver is
known as Tracks. It was opened in 1980. On October 5th, 2017, an experimental observation at the
Tracks nightclub was made. During this experience, it was observed that these people that
identified as either gay, lesbian, or bisexual were acting as normal human beings in a heterosexual
nightclub. Although the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender movement acts have been
created to allow this community to be more opened and unafraid, it has had a history of having
psychological components such as depression, and social components such as relationships with
one another, and of course the history within hate crimes towards the LGBTcommunity.
Psychological component Gay nightclubs are a healthy heaven for the psychological well being of
the Lesbian, Gay, bisexual, trans community. (Also known as the LGBT community) Because

Denmark Health Care System
The Nation Denmark is the oldest kingdom in the world and one of the oldest states in Europe. The
current monarch, Queen Margrethe II is very popular among the Danes and began ruling in 1972.
Denmark s history started with the Viking age. The Danes conquered northern and eastern England
and Christianity was introduced during this time. The Reformation fighting ended in 1536 and left
the establishment of the Lutheran church headed by the monarch. Denmark lost territory and
money in the Thirty Years War with Sweden. However, the Great Northern War restored Denmark s
power in the Baltic. Despite some territorial losses, Denmark started to prosper economically,
introducing a representative form of government and many social and educational reforms.
Denmark remained neutral in the First World War and the present southern border with Germany
was established. As Hitler rose to power in Germany, Denmark introduced the Great Social
Reforms, continuing to prosper culturally. Denmark was occupied by Germany in World War II.
Denmark joined the European Community in 1973. The education system in Denmark is much
desired. All higher education in Denmark is free, including college, graduate schools, and medical
school. The Danish school system consists of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of the Civil War while revealing the way the thousands of deaths changed the United States as a
whole. She presents this testimony of history by telling the eight main ways the Civil War changed
the nation while including countless forms of evidence. This paper will review Fausts historical
narrative, the book s evidence, as well as evaluating the quality of Faust s writing throughout the
book. The purpose of Drew Gilpin Faust writing this book remains incredibly clear as wanting to
show the different ways the Civil War directly affected the United States people and government.
This purpose presented by Faust is made obvious by the intelligent arguments and countless pieces
of evidence to support the claims brought to the reader s attention. All of these arguments... Show

Each chapter is divided up into one argument. These chapters include key pieces of information for
the reader to get a better understanding about the war and the affect it had on the nation. Through
evidence and accounts from people in the war, Faust shows how and why the country changed on
both the government and the citizen front. For the government, the war showed them the flaws in
their soldier responsibilities. Because of the war the government changed many different policies to
deal with death, created national cemeteries, implemented better identification and numbering
systems, as well as worked out different programs to take care of the soldier s families. For citizens
the war changed their ways of mourning, thinking of the afterlife, their views on religion, their
process of burial, as well as their amount of respect each person held for the soldiers in the war.
The author makes clear that without the war many of the tactics and ideals the country has in place
today would not be the same without the Civil

Environmental Assessment Essay
INTRODUCTION
The Methow Valley Ranger District which belongs to Forest Service, cooperates with the
Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation (Yakama Nation) and Bonneville Power
Administration (BPA), propose to re establish, enhance and improve the diversity of aquatic habitat
for Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed fish in the River Mile (R.M.) 15.5 20 reach of the
Chewuch River. They plan to start this project on the Methow Valley Ranger District of the
Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest in Okanogan County in north central Washington State
starting in the summer of 2017. This Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared compliant to
the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ)
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major environmental issue is that lack of habitat diversity in the Chewuch River limited fish
productivity for anadromous fish listed under the Endangered Species Act. There is a need to
restore habitat diversity by increasing large wood quantities, pool frequency and quality, and re
establishing side and off channel habitat to improve fish habitat for ESA listed species.
PROPOSED ACTION AND ALTERNATIVE
The Forest Service and the Yakama Nation, funded by BPA, are currently proposing restoration
actions on the Chewuch River from R.M. 15.5 to 20.0. The proposed project has been designed to
enhance fish habitat and to improve fish habitat diversity by Increasing habitat complexity by the
introduction of large wood. Increasing pool habitat, and restoring historical off channel habitat. On
the other hand, the No Action Alternative would neither restore wood or stream side channels in
the 15.5 20 R.M. nor any other river restoration activities. The recovery process will follow the
nurture processes.
STRENGTH
This EA is clearly and contains details in every section. Additionally, this EA complied with the
NEPA requirements which four sections covered all the information. The EA contains the purpose
and need for the summary, followed by the second part which is alternative description, and the
third section is existing condition and environmental consequences, finally, the last section contains
the references.

Andaloor Norms
The Indian village of Andaloor abides by the rules of a traditional Hindu marriage. First, both
parents and their son would discuss the prerequistes that the bride must have. For example, the
bride and groom must both be in the same caste, if not the marriage would be considered taboo.
Another requirement would be a similar economic and religious background. Because Andaloor is
in South India, the prospective bride might also be a blood relative due to village endogamy . All of
these requirements however, have become slightly (emphasis on the slightly) less important in
contemporary India, although adherence to the norm is still a dominant factor in marriagein India.

Argumentative Speech On Gas Prices
How many of you have ever sat down and thought hmm I wonder what causes gas prices to
fluctuate. There is always someone wondering what gas prices may look like five years from
now. In 1998 gas cost Americans less than one dollar a gallon, which would be less than $15 to
fill up if your car required a 15 gallon tank. As Americans, we are known to fear the fluctuation of
gas prices, because we are human. As an average American living in poverty, it becomes quite
frightening to think of rising gas prices. I wonder sometimes if I would be able to afford to put
gas in my car to travel to and from school and work on a weekly basis. Here s a quote they

because as an American citizen who drives 15 gallon tank Honda Accord, are affected by these
gas fluctuations day in and day out. Today I would like to inform my audience on variations of
gas prices. Many people may wonder why gas prices fluctuate but may have never been property
informed on the real reasons why. Here are three reasons I chose to discuss today: 1.) the cost of

The most well known expeditions are those of European explorers such as Christopher Columbus,
but there are many lesser known voyages from history, including the voyages of Chinese Muslim
diplomat Zheng He. After driving out the Mongol leaders who controlled China, the Chinese fell
under the power of the Ming Dynasty in 1368. In 1405, Yongle, the second emperor of the Ming
Dynasty, appointed Zheng Heto lead the first of seven voyages of exploration of the outside world.

The first of Zheng He s voyages were launched in 1405, about 87 years before the voyages of
Christopher Columbus. Columbus had only three ships and 90 crewmen on his famous voyage
in 1492 and the size of his ships were 85 feet long. Similarly, Vasco da Gama s 1498 voyage had
4 ships and 160 crewmen and Ferdinand Magellan s 1521 voyage had 5 ships and 265 crewmen.
A chart titled Zheng He s Fleet By the Numbers stated the number of each type of crew personnel
on each voyage of Zheng He s and the number of each type of ship on each voyage. The total
number of ships for each voyage was 255 and the total number of crewmen was 27,000 (Doc. C).
An illustration titled Zheng He by Edward L. Dreyer detailing the size of Zheng He s ships
depicts them as being 440 feet long and 180 feet wide (Doc. C). Zheng He s voyages were not
only larger than most known voyages before his, but also larger than many of the exploration
voyages long after his by a significant amount. His ships were more than five times the size of
those of Columbus, his crew 300 times Columbus s crew, and his fleet 85 times the size of
Columbus s fleet. It would have taken very strong leadership by He to safely and successfully
conduct such a large voyage across the vast distances he travelled. Zheng He s voyages were

How The French Presidential Elections Will Affect The...
How the French Presidential Elections will Affect the Entire World
After rejecting the two major political parties in the first round, the French voters will choose their
new president. What will the election result mean for the world?
After the Brexit results in the UK and Trump s election in the US, France is next to face the
challenge of elections on May the 7th for their second round. Debating the subject is William
Callanan, 45, an American citizen living in Britain for the last 15 years and partner at Keysquare
Capital Management. He agreed in an interview to share his opinion on how the French elections
will have a major impact across the world. But first, let s meet the candidates.

Callanan thinks Macron will align with Fillon on the centre right, making Le pen garner less votes,
suggesting the first round s outcome is an indication of what the ending bias will likely be.
Will a new president be the end of old politics in France? Just over a month after the new
president will be elected, she/he will start building their coalition in the Assembly Nationale. It
will be a real challenge for both, says Callanan as a new party has never gained a majority. He
paused. But Macron has a better chance than Le Pen.
One important issue that the new president will need to address is on the national security, as
terrorist attacks are at their peek right now in France. While Le Pen is focused on immigration,
Macron is focused on adding 50,000 police and specialised training. When asked who will appeal
more to the public, Callanan said people become more accustomed to these events and the shock
effect is mitigated. Think of what it is like living in Beirut...
Will Le Pen s claim of deporting all foreigners suspected of a connection to radical Islamism make
France safer? Definitely not, replied Mr. Callanan, on the contrary, the anti immigration and anti
Islam stance can be taken too far and be counter productive.
Le Pen has said that France should be less naive as it became a jihadi university. Will her
presidency affect the relations with the Middle East? Which key policies should France pursue in

A Note on Fuel Hedging in the Airline Industry
Fuel hedging in the airline industry Introduction Hedging can be defined as a risk management
mechanism or strategy which is used to prevent the chances of incurring losses which arise as a
result of fall in prices commodities or currencies. It is a technique which is majorly used by the
investors in protecting their capital against the effects of the economic situations such as
inflation whereby the investors invests in the high yield financial instruments or take a position
to cushion them against such effects (Investopedia, 2012). From its definition it can be noticed
that hedging is a strategy employed by companies in an effort to safeguard their economic
position and to prevent the company from the losses which are associated with the unforeseen
risks. Companies can hedge against risks which are associated with losses by taking control of
their future purchases. The commodity prices vary in different markets and are caused or
influenced by different economic factors. Some commodities are very scarce and with the
increased depletion subject to the global demand in different foreign markets, the prices are set to
be hiked in response to the established demand which positions the companies that use those
particular commodities to have cash flow problems. Pricing of commodities are arrived at
basically from the forces of demand and supply, a decrease in supply of a basic commodity or a
commodity with a high utility value causes the demand to rise suddenly. There are

One of the themes that was pointed out through the book is, family is worth dying for. Alex
proves this over and over again when he chooses to walk to Warren where his family is. He could
have easily stayed and found a safer way out but he needed his family so much that he risked his
life to walk through ash and snow just to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alex shows this theme through his decisions in the book. At the beginning of the book he only
cared about himself but as he is alone for awhile and then meets Darla he seems to care more for
other people he meets, than for himself. He gives more then he gets. He gave little Katie s family
food and was there for them when she died. Darla started making decisions like an adult even when
her mother was alive. She made food and harvested corn. Darla grew up quickly when they were
still on the farm. Alex and Darla grew up when they were with one another. They cared for
eachother almost as if they were married. They cooked and traveled well and didn t let little things
bother them. Also after Alex killed multiple people he almost became not as soft as he was. He
grew up a lot through killing multiple people, after this he seemed not as afraid to stand up for
himself and Darla. In Ashfall, these themes were represented through the characters words and
actions. Alex, Darla, and other characters showed that love, family, and survival conquer everything
through hard situations. Mike Mullin represented these themes well throughout the book. All in all,
Alex made it through all hard times with love, family, and survival pushing him to make it to

The 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership
The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership was written by John C. Maxwell, who is an author,
speaker, and a pastor. I found his take on leadership to be interesting, as he believed that leadership
is leadership, no matter what context. The laws are similar no matter what realm they will be
applied in. He successfully demonstrated how his laws apply in leadershipin all forms, whether it is
in church or in politics, in history or in sports.
When he first began, he was told that he was a pastor and that he had no business experience;
how could he possibly guide people in business? He has taken his leadership experiences from his
church life and directly correlated them to many various fields. The book has many illustrations
drawing parallels with sports and American history as well as corporate experts stories.
Maxwell doesn t claim that there are only 21 principles of leading. His intention through this book
is to show what the laws of leadership are. These laws hold true, no matter which field you intend
to lead in.
As there are 21 different laws, some related closely to the others and some not, the summary will
be going through each of the laws briefly.
LAW #1: Law of the Lid
The lid is a person s leadership ability. This leadership ability determines how effective that person
can be. The lower or higher someone s leadership ability is, their effectiveness is respectively lower
or higher.
The idea of the law is that for someone who measures a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 on a

The Survival of the Rock Hyrax in Urban Areas
RATIONALE Urbanisation poses a threat to wildlife through habitat destruction and population
fragmentation. As a consequence, urbanisation alters the distribution of species. Yet, urbanisation
creates opportunities for some species to thrive and persist in the urban jungle. Many species have
adapted to urban areas across the globe. However, not all animals living in urban areas adapt to
urban life and instead might be confined to refugia that match the pre existing adaptation to natural
conditions. Therefore, studying the occurrence and persistence of wildlife in urban areas might
provide an understanding how some species can survive urbanisation (Chace Walsh 2006; Sih
2013; Sol et al. 2013; FontГєrbel Tarifa 2013). Wildlife can become pests in urban areas. For
invasive species, these conflicts arise because they exploit newly available niches. For example,
cane toads, Bufo marinus, in Australia, red foxes, Vulpes vulpes, across the globe, and grey
squirrels, Sciurus carolinensis, in Britain (Barr et al. 2002; Saunders et al. 2010; Bateman Fleming
2012). However, for indigenous species, these conflicts can arise through habituation to people
which could lead to these species being viewed as pests due to their behaviours conflicting with
human interests. For example, European badgers, Meles meles, in British residential properties
during foraging and sett construction (Ward et al. 2008). My study is concerned with establishing
how species can survive in urban

Clayton Wilkins Autobiography
When I was a child the atmosphere of baseball was almost intoxicating to me. The scent of freshly
cut grass as it tickles your nose, the sound of the ball whooshing through the air from the mound
to the catchers glove, and the sudden crack of the bat as it knocks the little leather ball hundreds of
feet out into the park. All of my senses are in full joyous glee when I am surrounded by that
environment. Unfortunately, I only got to enjoy this atmosphere from the bleachers. I was born
with many medical issues, one of which being asthma that did not particularly like the freshly cut
grass tickling my nose. I would spend my time in the stands watching my half brothers and cousins

This happened when my Great Grandmother married a man named, Clayton Thompkins.
Clayton was eighty eight years old, had never married before, and did not have any kids of his
own. My father had left my Mom and I many years before so the relationship seemed to spark
instantly. Clayton took me under his wing and became a father figure that I was not use to
having around in my life. Every Sunday at my grandmother s house, we would waste the day
away with the sounds of our voices. We would discuss about our favorite team the Oakland A s
and how much we despised the New York Yankees. Clayton had kept me happier that I could
ever remember as a child. However, it never slipped his mind that I was upset with all my
sicknesses and that I couldn t actually do any of the things we would talk about. It was then
Clayton would fill my young heart with the ideas of being in sports without being on the field. The
theory arose that, I could become a statistician for baseball since math came so easy to me as a
subject. We would listen to ESPN Radio and he said I could be like our favorite sports radio
analyst, Colin Cowherd. I may even choose to get into writing and become a sports journalist for

Investment Strategy Linear Programming Essay
INVESTMENT STRATEGY REPORT Submitted to J. D. Williams, Inc. By Mizar Gonzalez
Industrial Engineering Department Southern Polytechnic State university 404 519 2792 February
20, 2008 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report is our recommendation for an optimal investment
strategy that would allow J. D. Williams, Inc. to maximize the annual yield of an investment of
$800,000 in a diversified portfolio of funds. To find the investment that would result in the greatest
annual yield we have formulated a linear program that takes into account the requirements for the
client of J. D. Williams, Inc. The requirements for the investment portfolio can be found on the
section titled Problem Description The greatest annual... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The client will realize an annual yield on the $800,000 investment of $94,133.33 if it is allocated
in the following manner. The amount to be invested in the growth fund must be $ 248,889. The
income fund must have an investment of $ 160,000 and the money market fund must have an
investment of $ 391, 112. The solution is not surprising given the requirements for the
investments. The amount invested in the growth fund yields the greatest revenue but has to be
less than 50% of the total investment and is also limited by its high risk index. The amount is
greatest when invested in the money market fund because it balances the greater risk the other
funds are subjected to. Problem answers If the client s risk index was increased to.055 the
investment would be affected in the following manner. The optimal solution becomes $ 98, 800
and the funds would be allocated in the following manner: Growth fund $ 293, 334, Income fund
$ 160, 000, and Money Market fund $ 346, 667. If the original problem is consulted and the
annual yield of growth fund is downgraded to 16% the optimal solution would change to $92, 934
with the funds invested in the following manner. Growth fund $ 293, 334, Income fund $ 160, 000,
and Money Market fund $ 346, 667. The yield of the growth fund still justifies having a large
amount of the portfolio

Shared Knowledge And Personal Knowledge
Shared knowledge and personal knowledge, although they may come from the same concept of
acquiring them through a variety of situations, it differs on the process of gaining them. Thereupon,
such approach is seen through human sciences and natural sciences. Human sciences portray shared
knowledge through socio psychological experiments and theories created from personal
experiences and circumstances, as well as a set of collective norms and values that change
depending on a group of society or culture. On the other hand, natural sciences are made up of
theories, formulation of hypothesis and through experiments; which are obtained from paradigm
shifts where it involves perception, reasoning, language, and memory. But how does shared
knowledge and personal knowledge differ or are similar in both natural and human sciences?

Canada Is Not The Peace Of The United Nations
Canada, was once a respected peacekeeper now a disgrace to its past. Canada was once the
primary contributor to the United Nations for peacekeeping. Now Canada is not even close to
being regarded as a contributor. Even the people in Canada do not think that Canada has any
involvement in the peacekeeping business. Many people looked at Canadaas a symbol of peace
which many still do, but most do not know that Canada has fled from its old ways and now is just
an image of the past. Canada is no longer presented as a peacekeepingcountry. Therefore Canada is
not the peace keeping country it used to be because of its lack of support to the United Nations,
Canada s opinion on its duty as a peacekeeper, and the loss of influence as a peacekeeper.... Show

Canada contributes nothing to the world of peacekeeping. Canada disgraces its past image by
not being a piece of the puzzle to peacekeeping. It is an abnormality that peacekeeping that no
longer relates to the Canadian society. The previous statistics as a peacekeeper are drastically
different than the current stats. High of 3,336, started at 850. As of Sept 2014 118 (Shepard)
Canada s participation in peacekeeping has changed over the past years from prominent to non
existent. If Canada was once called the peacekeeper now it should be called the nothing keeper,
because Canada is not keeping anything at this point. They started higher than what they are
currently. Canada s contribution is nothing compared to the past as they are a disappointment to
their past peacekeeping image. In conclusion Canada no longer has the reputation as a peacekeeper
due to its lack of contribution. Along with Canada s lack of contribution, Canada s political figures
do not consider Canada a peacekeeper. The previous Prime Minister Stephen Harper had his own
opinion of Canada and peacekeeping. Stephen Harper says (Canada) out of the peacekeeping
business . The fact that the Prime Minister explicitly stated that Canada has no relevance to
peacekeeping is mind boggling considering how relevant Canada used to be. When Canada s own

Power of Buyers
In the United States, most states require three separate components in the supply chain: producers,
distributors, and retailers. This three tiered system insulates distributors, as beer producers are not
permitted to sell beer directly to retailers or consumers.[5] The regulations in place augment the
power of buyers. Furthermore, distributors purchase volume as a percent of the focal industry s
output is high. Conversely, the relative power of distributors is dependent on how reliant their
revenues are on beer sales. Overall, due to the relatively larger number of distributors compared to
beer manufacturers, the dominant position of the three largest brewers, as well as the brand loyalty
created by the manufacturers through brand differentiation, the power of buyers is moderate.
Substitutes
The threat of substitutes is high for the beer industry, and specifically for this strategic group.
According to the trade group Beverage Industry, alcohol beverage consumption per capita has risen
since 2000 at around one percent per year, which suggests that consumers on average are not
substituting non alcoholic beverages for the alcohol they currently consume[6]. Since 1994,
consumption per capita has increased for the three major substitutes premium beers, wine, and
spirits.[7] Although beer holds a majority

When fabricated in accordance with military specifications, it should be able to withstand
thermal processing, or retort processing, and a wide temperature range sufficient enough to
prevent package damage during transportation and storage. Food packaged in a conventional can
must be cooked approximately twice as long as food contained in a retort pouch, as well. To
sterilize the food contained in either form of packaging, it must be brought up to approximately
245В° F and kept there for a specified period of time. Retort packages have a thin profile and a
high ratio of surface area to volume. Heat penetrates the food much more quickly when it only has
to reach the inside of an approximately half inch thick mass, rather than a much larger mass in a
round can.
Coloring is also applied to either the exterior or interior surface of the polyester layer. While the
pouch is considered a quot;tough quot; package, it is not indestructible. The strength of the pouch
and its resistance to damage comes from its tri laminar structure. Strength of the pouch has always
been an issue for the Military, and it s difficult for some to understand that plastic can be as strong
as steel, as metal cans are usually associated with strength.
Each of the three laminas has its own individual qualities that contribute to the success

Plato s Apology Essay
Plato s Apology
In the retelling of his trial by his associate, Plato, entitled The Apology ; Socrates claims in his
defense that he only wishes to do good for the polis. I believe that Socrates was innocent of the
accusations that were made against him, but he possessed contempt for the court and displayed that
in his conceitedness and these actions led to his death. In his defense, Socrates claims over and
again that he is innocent and is not at all wise, ...for I know that I have no wisdom, small or great.

politicians, and artisans. He claimed that all were inferior to him because they claimed to know
much when they knew not much at all. And that, although he did not know all the tings these
men knew, he was still wiser. He went so far as to tell these men what he thought, and even
stated all these feelings in the court. This, no doubt, led to his general hatred more than any
other act. But I wonder, had anyone ever questioned Socrates? And on what basis did he judge
wisdom? Socrates claimed that a man who thought themselves the wisest were the least, but that
is exactly what he was, a man who thought himself the wisest. Maybe he was the type of person
to dislike any man who s intellect challenged his own. Is there not here conceit of knowledge,
which is a disgraceful sort of ignorance? And this is the point in which, as I think, I am superior
to men in general. Socrates claims to be most all virtuous. I tell you that virtue is not given by
money, but as from virtue come money and every other good of man... . Funny that Socrates also
claims to be in rags .
In yet another contradiction, Socrates states that he will not cry and mention the fact that he has

Chesapeake Bay And The Bay
About 18 thousand years ago, glacial sheets from the last ice age begin to melt (Chesapeake Bay
Program n.d.). As the glaciers melted the large volume of water began to raise sea levels. The
rising seas levels engulfed the coast and flooded the Susquehanna river ( Geological History n.d.).
Once the seas levels have risen, the temperatures continued to rise changing the landscape. So oak,
maple, hickory, and other hardwood species started to appear (Chesapeake BayProgram n.d.). Once
the temperature increases even more hardwood forests and wetlands are created. As even more of
the glaciers melt it floods the Susquehanna rivermore and it even floods the Potomac, James, and
York rivers pouring into the Atlantic Ocean creating the Bay s... Show more content on

The Bay is fed by 48 major rivers and 100 small tributaries draining a 64,000 square mile basin (
Geological History n.d.). The Bay has a width of four miles near Aberdeen, Maryland to thirty
miles near Cape Charles, Virginia (Chesapeake Bay Program n.d.). The average depth of the bay
is 21 feet with troughs as deep as 174 feet deep (Chesapeake Bay Program n.d.). The main rivers
of the Chesapeake Bay is the Susquehanna, Potomac, James, Rappahannock, Chester, Nanticoke,
Patuxent, and the Choptank rivers (Sprague et al 2000). The main rivers of the Chesapeake Bay
watershed send about 51 billion gallons of freshwater into the Bay each day (Chesapeake Bay
Program n.d.). These rivers are homes to many fish, amphibians, invertebrates, and other animals.
Not only do aquatic animals live in these rivers, plenty of aquatic plants live there too
(Chesapeake Bay Program n.d.). There are many factors that could affect the health of the
Chesapeake Bay including litter, debris, sediment pollution, chemical contaminants, and any man
made objects (Chesapeake Bay Program n.d.). Any litter and debris will work its way up to the
Bay from the rivers and smother any grass beds along with bottom dwelling creators and add
chemical contaminants to the water. Any excess nutrients that come from urban runoff or vehicle
emissions will cause harmful algae to grow which blocks sunlight and does not allow plants to
grow due to low oxygen dead zones

It doesn t matter if you are 6 feet or 2 feet; you the have equal right to fight for your believes, and
Freak doesn t let anyone one forget that. For instance,, this first happens on page 30 when Freak
stands up to Blade and his gang by smart mouthing him and acting all tough. His chest is all
puffed out and his chin looks hard and he is looking right up at Tony D . Once again, it happens
131 when Freak rescues Max from Killer Kane and acts very brave despite his size and disease. He
uses his brain to rescue Max and proves you don t need to be big to be brave. Freak stood up to
balde because he doesn t care about his appearance and or size; all his cares about is standing by
his beliefs. Which leads to why he rescued Max. Freak rescued max because he wanted to repay
Max for showing him to be normal and lifting him up above the world. Freak also did it to show
killer kane that their friendship can overcome anything, and just because his small and crippled
doesn t mean his is afraid to stand up and fight no matter how small he is. And no one can argue
with that! Freak didn t care about his size, he just wanted to prove he was capable of fighting for

Research Paper On The Hippocampus
The hippocampus is part of the Limbic System (Wright, n.d.). According to Wright, the
hippocampus formation is found in the temporal lobe of the brain. The study of the hippocampus is
vital in understanding how it governs human behaviors. As perceived, the brain is a complex
machine and through understanding its crucial parts in the processing of information would give a
clear understanding and precautions to people on how to protect their brain from memory loss and
other similar diseases. In addition, Wright explained that the hippocampusis directly linked to the
entorhinal cortex and the fornix. That is to say that the output pathways of hippocampus passed
directly to the entorhinal cortex and the fornix before reaching other anterior structures. What is
more, not only do outputs coming from hippocampus are passed through the entorhinal cortex, but
both parts are also directly connected to one another which includes the amyglada (Wright, n.d).
Why is this part of the study? As elaborated by Wright, both entorhinal cortex and amyglada are
structures that are connected to several parts of the brain. Thereby, all areas of the brain that are
connected to aforesaid structures could be affected by hippocampus.... Show more content on

Stress Management Essay
Stress Management
Stress management is something we as people should take a lot more seriously than we really do.
Whenever I tell someone that they need to learn how to control their stress they always tell me
they need their stress. They are right, they do need their stress, we all need a certain amount of stress
in our lives. No stress is almost just as unhealthy as too much stress. Just the right amount of
stress is called Eustress. Eustress is a healthy stressor because it helps to keep us motivated.
Unhealthy stress is called Distress. Distress is unhealthy because it can cause all sorts of health
problems such as anxiety attacks or high blood pressure. There are two different kinds of stressors,
an internal stressor and an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
#61623; Exercise regularly
Nothing beats aerobic exercise for relieving stress. The stress reaction in the body consists of
tightened muscles, increased heart rate, Increased blood pressure, and heavier breathing . The
result is our bodies go into a state of high energy but there is usually no place for that energy to
go. Exercise is the most logical way to dissipate this excess energy. In turn relieving stress.
#61623; Humor
Humor is the best medicine. Laughter reduces the heart rate and arterial blood pressure to below
their original levels and causes the chest, abdomen, and shoulder muscles to contract, thus
providing release from stress. Do the quiz in one of my humor potential quiz books located in the
back of this report to test yourself and see if you should be laughing more than you do. #61623;
Realistic Expectations
A common source of stress is unrealistic expectations. People often become upset about
something not because it is innately stressful but because it is not what they expected. For
example, If you get caught in slow moving traffic during rush hour you may not like it but it won
t surprise you or necessarily upset you. However if it occurs on a Sunday afternoon it is more
than likely to stress you out considerably. When expectations are realistic life seems more
predictable and therefore more manageable because you can plan ahead and prepare yourself. As for

Patty Cake and Walter Waffle!

Patty Cake and Bonita Bacon were best friends. Patty was very short and always wore shoes with
a high heel. It helped her to be a little bit taller. Bonita was a tall, slim girl with pink hair. The two
met each other at the City Pancake and Waffle House, about three years ago. Every Saturday
morning for the past three years, they would meet each other there, for a chit chat and breakfast.
It was Saturday morning. The weather was sunny, bright, and cold. Patty jumped out of bed,

Sammy answered. EZ Egg.
Just as he said that, EZ Egg stepped out of his car.
He was walking in with his friend Yola Yolk! They were going on a trip and stopped in to get some
food to go.
Just as the friends were all together at one huge table, someone got up and played another nice
song on the Juke Box. Everyone hurried to the dance floor and was showing off their new moves
when, when in walked Terry and Tina Toast!
They greeted everyone and went right straight to the dance floor! Tina and Terry showed off some
new steps they had learned! They even did a dance called the Robot! They stole the moment!
Tina wore a nice long scarf and her knee high boots. Terry wore a nice tam with a gold button right
on the top!

couples all shared jokes, laughter and unstoppable fun! They had found a new place to hang

EuripidesMedea, Hippolytus, And Electra
The Minds of Euripides s Creations Upon a first inspection of Euripides s Medea, Hippolytus,
and Electra, women were depicted as a vicious brood for the only purpose of bringing men to their
ruin. However, this was not the case at all. Euripides portrayed women as downtrodden individuals
because of the scorned lovethey had experienced. Love was the main factor in all of these plays. In
addition, Euripidespresented how women were influenced by their emotions. Euripides s Medea
characterized a woman, Medea, who was driven by her anger at Jason s betrayal to perform
atrocious acts. She was grief stricken because Jason treated her like a harlot and broke her heart.
She was stricken by the sinful desire of revenge that she was even willing to murder her own
children to make Jason pay for his actions for marrying another woman (Medea 1 4). She felt
betrayed by Jason because she sacrificed everything familiar to her to journey across the vast
seas to be with him (Medea 13 14). Medea had a right to want revenge because she knew that
Jason was cheating on her with another woman. Jason attempted to justify his new marriage by
pointing out that the only reason he was marrying this other woman was to support his children
and her in the best possible way (Medea 15 17). Jason s endeavors only added fuel to Medea s
loathing. He claimed that all of his actions were just, and Medea was only jealous because she was
not copulating with him anymore. He was being rude in inferring that his

Timeless Beowulf, Tireless Executives
Timeless Beowulf, Tireless Executives The literary masterpiece Beowulf compiles the life of
Beowulf as living the supreme military life. The concepts and themes of the story are considered
timeless because comparisons can be drawn from Beowulf s life to the lives of the people of today.
Consider the fact that Beowulflives a detached life, which validates him being a wise and strong
leader. This also leaves him a man who must face his death grasping the fact that he has foolishly
abstained from having a devoted relationship with another person. In his tenacious quest for fame

and alienated life could cause a person to regret not having any personal or intimate relationships.

of the leaders of today.

Cons And Cone Cones Analysis
The visual system contains two types of photoreceptors, the rods and the cones. These two
receptors are easily distinguishable from one another based on their individual shapes, which also
gives them their names. They also differ in the type of photopigments they each contain, in the way
they are diffused across the retina, and by the variances between their synaptic associations (Purves,
Augustine, Fitzpatrick, Katz, LaMantia, McNamara Williams, 2001). Rods are found in the
periphery of the eyeand react to faint light, for example black and white, which allows the visual
system to process twilight vision. Cones, on the other hand, are located primarily in the fovea and
they respond to brighter lights, allowing for the ability to see things in color and are accountable
for daylight vision.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rods, in contrast, are all identical to one another (Purves et al., 2001). At the lower intensities of
light, only the rods are activated. However, as the amount of light entering the eye increases, so
does the activity of the cones, ultimately influencing what an individual can see (Purves et al.,
2001). Photopigments, which are found in both rods and cones within the retina, respond to light
through a chemical process that releases energy. In order to detect varying levels of light,
photopigments consist of 11 cis retinal (a derivative of vitamin A) bound to proteins called opsins,
which modify the photopigments sensitivity to different wavelengths of light. Light converts 11 cis
retinal to all trans retinal, thus releasing energy that activates second messengers within the cell
(Kalat, 2013, p. 159). The photopigments are responsible for initiating the first steps of
communication within visual system when levels of light are first

  • 2. Shooting Science Experiment The purpose of my science fair was to figure out what angle in shooting will produce the most amount of goals. First I chose which angle for shooting is more effective to produce the most amount of goals in a game. I chose this because in my games I have found that sometimes we miss the shots on goal, and I wanted to find a way to put an end to it. That s why I chose this for my science experiment. My results were that the 45 degree angle proved to be the best angle for shooting and 90 degree angle was the worst. I predicted that if I kick from the 45 degree angle it would produce the most amount of goals. I proved my hypothesis with a score of 4 out of the five goals. In my results I got 3.6 for the 90 degree angle. In the 45 degree angle I got 4 out of five. Using the 0 degree angle I got 3.3 out of 5. On the 45 I got a 2.3 out of five. Lastly using the 90 I got a 2 out of 5.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The relationship is I have to keep moving the ball so I have to keep measuring the ball. That is how they are related. Now I will discuss my experimental procedure. My procedure was this. First I needed to measure out my angles from the penalty dot. Then I needed to kick the balls into the goal and record my data out of five. Some of the things that may have affected my results were that it had snowed and I had to shovel part of the field, and it may have made my tired. Aklso that it was really cold and I may have been off my game because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Rhetorical Analysis Of Lou Gehrig s Speech To Baseball Seventy three years ago, on July 4th, a man whose skillset lied on the baseball field, much rather than in speechmaking, delivered one of the most effective and inspiring speeches of all time. His name was Lou Gehrig, and in the matter of approximately two minutes, he managed to reflect not only his own thoughts of his disease and retirement from baseball, but also the thoughts and mindsets of his fans and the American people during the 1930s. Lou Gehrig s farewell speech, famously including the aforementioned quote, drew upon many rhetorical strategies in order to convey themes and emotions that, especially during the time period, were extremely important to his fans and all people. Gehrig heavily utilized ethos and pathos to argue his point, and it was these two rhetorical appeals combined that allowed him to establish himself as a humble and thankful man who considered himself nothing but lucky to have been given the opportunities in life that he had been given. The backdrop of Lou Gehrig s speech is extremely important in considering why his speech was so rhetorically effective. As mentioned previously, the speech was delivered seventy three years ago, in 1939. At this time, the country was slowly recovering from the Great Depression and war was imminent in Europe. It was a testing time for the American people, so just to relax and enjoy themselves, people went to baseball games. People looked up to these baseball players and it was through them that they could get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However due to white men enlisting in World War I and the United States government halt on immigration from Europe, these industrial cities experienced severe labor shortages. To fulfill these job shortages, northern manufacturers recruited throughout the South causing what is known as The Great Migration, where at least 500,000 African Americans moved from the South to Northern and Midwestern cities. After the World War I, the United Statesshould have had a time of peace and used their experiences to break away from the old attitudes and tradition before the war, instead those who came home reverted back to the same attitudes of racism. • 5. The Effect Of Heat Treatment On Manufacturing Capabilities... Growth of any country depends upon its manufacturing capabilities. Today is world of competitiveness. Every industry must need to increase their performance and reliability as well as quality.Besides this one need to consider cost. Because at last cost will decide whether the thing is of superior quality in that range. So every industry must reduce the cost of process. • 6. Dante Alighieri s L Inferno Critical Analysis Dante Alighieri s principal work, L Inferno, details the first part in his journey in life from Hell to Purgatory to Heaven in a work of epic poetry unseen since the time of Virgil. Alighieri s purpose in this work is to illustrate that God s judgement, and by extension God himself, is always perfect. Dante describes this purpose through his vivid imagery, the ways in which he changes in his journey through Hell, and the setting of Hell itself. L Inferno is frequently praised for its images that come to life while reading. It is not difficult to visualize the expansive mires of the River Styx, or the bleak, forlorn city of Dis, or the frigid lake Cocytus with its icy winds gusting. Dante uses such robust writing for a purpose: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As his journey starts in the highest levels of Hell he witnesses the sinners punishments, sadness overtakes him. Viewing two adulterers, he exclaims: your afflictions/ move me to tears of sorrow and pity (C. 5 L. 116 117). In acting as he does, he reveals that he is not sure that God is acting fairly when he metes out these punishments. However, as he descends the infernal pit, he becomes less moved by what he sees around him, becoming more convinced that God s punishment is fair and just. In the beginning of his journey, Dante believes the punishments to be rigidly harsh and unnecessary, but he realizes that, as Joanne Kashdan says, They are not merely innovative, interesting, or random; they are designed to provoke thought about the nature of each sin and vice . As he goes on, he begins to notice this, and has less pity for the damned. In the fourth level (about midway through Hell), he gladly sees a sinner dismembered by other spirits: I saw/ muddy sinners dismember him so/ that even now I praise god for it (C. 8 L. 58 60). Furthermore, as the book finishes, in the final level of Hell, Dante refuses to let a spirit lament for himself, because he believes his punishment is fitting for his crime. I did not open them [his eyes, frozen shut] for to be rude/ To such a one as him was courtesy (C. 33 L. 146 147). This evolution of Dante as the book progresses establishes the fact that as he toured the Inferno, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Gay Bars And Gay Nightclubs Introduction Since the 1930s, gay bars and gay nightclubs have been around. The bar called White Horse, in Oakland, California, has been opened since 1933. It is known to be the first gay bar to be opened here in America. Being gay in the 1930s was brutal. Same gender sex was a felony, and being caught in a gaybar could cost someone their job. In a society that viewed gays as barley human, the White Horse allowed a level of freedom that in the 1940s or 1950s was liberating (Duffy 2016). With time changes and people being more accepted, gay bars and gay nightclubs started opening all across America. One of the many gay nightclubs here in Denver is known as Tracks. It was opened in 1980. On October 5th, 2017, an experimental observation at the Tracks nightclub was made. During this experience, it was observed that these people that identified as either gay, lesbian, or bisexual were acting as normal human beings in a heterosexual nightclub. Although the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender movement acts have been created to allow this community to be more opened and unafraid, it has had a history of having psychological components such as depression, and social components such as relationships with one another, and of course the history within hate crimes towards the LGBTcommunity. Psychological component Gay nightclubs are a healthy heaven for the psychological well being of the Lesbian, Gay, bisexual, trans community. (Also known as the LGBT community) Because ... However, the Great Northern War restored Denmark s power in the Baltic. Despite some territorial losses, Denmark started to prosper economically, introducing a representative form of government and many social and educational reforms. Denmark remained neutral in the First World War and the present southern border with Germany was established. As Hitler rose to power in Germany, Denmark introduced the Great Social Reforms, continuing to prosper culturally. Denmark was occupied by Germany in World War II. Because of the war the government changed many different policies to deal with death, created national cemeteries, implemented better identification and numbering systems, as well as worked out different programs to take care of the soldier s families. For citizens the war changed their ways of mourning, thinking of the afterlife, their views on religion, their process of burial, as well as their amount of respect each person held for the soldiers in the war. There is always someone wondering what gas prices may look like five years from now. In 1998 gas cost Americans less than one dollar a gallon, which would be less than $15 to fill up if your car required a 15 gallon tank. As Americans, we are known to fear the fluctuation of gas prices, because we are human. As an average American living in poverty, it becomes quite frightening to think of rising gas prices. • 22. The 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership was written by John C. Maxwell, who is an author, speaker, and a pastor. I found his take on leadership to be interesting, as he believed that leadership is leadership, no matter what context. The laws are similar no matter what realm they will be applied in. He successfully demonstrated how his laws apply in leadershipin all forms, whether it is in church or in politics, in history or in sports. When he first began, he was told that he was a pastor and that he had no business experience; how could he possibly guide people in business? He has taken his leadership experiences from his church life and directly correlated them to many various fields. The book has many illustrations drawing parallels with sports and American history as well as corporate experts stories. Maxwell doesn t claim that there are only 21 principles of leading. His intention through this book is to show what the laws of leadership are. These laws hold true, no matter which field you intend to lead in. As there are 21 different laws, some related closely to the others and some not, the summary will be going through each of the laws briefly. LAW #1: Law of the Lid The lid is a person s leadership ability. This leadership ability determines how effective that person can be. The lower or higher someone s leadership ability is, their effectiveness is respectively lower or higher. The idea of the law is that for someone who measures a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 on a ... • 23. The Survival of the Rock Hyrax in Urban Areas RATIONALE Urbanisation poses a threat to wildlife through habitat destruction and population fragmentation. As a consequence, urbanisation alters the distribution of species. Yet, urbanisation creates opportunities for some species to thrive and persist in the urban jungle. Many species have adapted to urban areas across the globe. However, not all animals living in urban areas adapt to urban life and instead might be confined to refugia that match the pre existing adaptation to natural conditions. Therefore, studying the occurrence and persistence of wildlife in urban areas might provide an understanding how some species can survive urbanisation (Chace Walsh 2006; Sih 2013; Sol et al. 2013; FontГєrbel Tarifa 2013). Wildlife can become pests in urban areas. For invasive species, these conflicts arise because they exploit newly available niches. For example, cane toads, Bufo marinus, in Australia, red foxes, Vulpes vulpes, across the globe, and grey squirrels, Sciurus carolinensis, in Britain (Barr et al. 2002; Saunders et al. 2010; Bateman Fleming 2012). However, for indigenous species, these conflicts can arise through habituation to people which could lead to these species being viewed as pests due to their behaviours conflicting with human interests. For example, European badgers, Meles meles, in British residential properties during foraging and sett construction (Ward et al. 2008). The client will realize an annual yield on the $800,000 investment of $94,133.33 if it is allocated in the following manner. The amount to be invested in the growth fund must be $ 248,889. The income fund must have an investment of $ 160,000 and the money market fund must have an investment of $ 391, 112. The solution is not surprising given the requirements for the investments. The amount invested in the growth fund yields the greatest revenue but has to be less than 50% of the total investment and is also limited by its high risk index. The amount is greatest when invested in the money market fund because it balances the greater risk the other funds are subjected to. This three tiered system insulates distributors, as beer producers are not permitted to sell beer directly to retailers or consumers.[5] The regulations in place augment the power of buyers. Furthermore, distributors purchase volume as a percent of the focal industry s output is high. Conversely, the relative power of distributors is dependent on how reliant their revenues are on beer sales. Overall, due to the relatively larger number of distributors compared to beer manufacturers, the dominant position of the three largest brewers, as well as the brand loyalty created by the manufacturers through brand differentiation, the power of buyers is moderate. And that, although he did not know all the tings these men knew, he was still wiser. He went so far as to tell these men what he thought, and even stated all these feelings in the court. This, no doubt, led to his general hatred more than any other act. But I wonder, had anyone ever questioned Socrates? And on what basis did he judge wisdom? EuripidesMedea, Hippolytus, And Electra The Minds of Euripides s Creations Upon a first inspection of Euripides s Medea, Hippolytus, and Electra, women were depicted as a vicious brood for the only purpose of bringing men to their ruin. However, this was not the case at all. Euripides portrayed women as downtrodden individuals because of the scorned lovethey had experienced. Love was the main factor in all of these plays. In addition, Euripidespresented how women were influenced by their emotions. Euripides s Medea characterized a woman, Medea, who was driven by her anger at Jason s betrayal to perform atrocious acts. She was grief stricken because Jason treated her like a harlot and broke her heart. She was stricken by the sinful desire of revenge that she was even willing to murder her own children to make Jason pay for his actions for marrying another woman (Medea 1 4). She felt betrayed by Jason because she sacrificed everything familiar to her to journey across the vast seas to be with him (Medea 13 14). Medea had a right to want revenge because she knew that Jason was cheating on her with another woman. Jason attempted to justify his new marriage by pointing out that the only reason he was marrying this other woman was to support his children and her in the best possible way (Medea 15 17). • 61. Cons And Cone Cones Analysis The visual system contains two types of photoreceptors, the rods and the cones. These two receptors are easily distinguishable from one another based on their individual shapes, which also gives them their names. They also differ in the type of photopigments they each contain, in the way they are diffused across the retina, and by the variances between their synaptic associations (Purves, Augustine, Fitzpatrick, Katz, LaMantia, McNamara Williams, 2001). Rods are found in the periphery of the eyeand react to faint light, for example black and white, which allows the visual system to process twilight vision. Cones, on the other hand, are located primarily in the fovea and they respond to brighter lights, allowing for the ability to see things in color and are accountable for daylight vision.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rods, in contrast, are all identical to one another (Purves et al., 2001). At the lower intensities of light, only the rods are activated. However, as the amount of light entering the eye increases, so does the activity of the cones, ultimately influencing what an individual can see (Purves et al., 2001). Photopigments, which are found in both rods and cones within the retina, respond to light through a chemical process that releases energy. In order to detect varying levels of light, photopigments consist of 11 cis retinal (a derivative of vitamin A) bound to proteins called opsins, which modify the photopigments sensitivity to different wavelengths of light. Light converts 11 cis retinal to all trans retinal, thus releasing energy that activates second messengers within the cell (Kalat, 2013, p. 159).
