2. Introduction
To bring together the traditions and ethos of India and modern technology in an environment where every
child is an individual, The Asian School is an day boarding school in Dehradun which offers English
medium, secular, co-educational education from classes Nursery to XII. The School is affiliated to the
Central Board of Secondary Education.
The School is situated on a 16 acre campus, 'Asian Acres' , in tranquil and verdant environs. The academic
building is an impressive structure designed by a well-known group of architects from New Delhi. The
residential area is set amidst greenery with students being provided their own recreational area. We have 4
hostels, 2 for senior boys, 1 for junior boys and 1 separate hostel for girls.
A housemaster, tutors and a matron live within the Student House providing round the clock supervision.
The students are housed in three separate hostels - one each for junior boys, senior boys and girls. The
hostels are so located that the senior boys do not have easy access to the girls, hostels. A 25m swimming
pool, table tennis and badminton halls, gymnasium, three larger sports fields, dining hall, activity rooms
and a gymnasium provide activity-based experiences and leisure pursuits for the children in their spare
time.

The growing collection of books and periodical subscriptions at our library help
maintain the child's interest in supplementary knowledge and reference work.
The Asian School library has all what it takes to be a top notch. It has more than what
a student will expect and to encourage reading habits among pupil, a wide range of
books, magazines, journals are provided in the library.
The Asian School Library is a hub of all activities going on in the school and has
become the centre of informal education.
It is equipped with state-of-art information products and services, that has enabled it
to meet the complex and ever increasing information needs of the school community..

Various cultural programs are organised throughout the year
and all students are encouraged to display their talents be it
singing, playing an instrument, dancing, oratory or histrionics
on these occasions, thus generating a feeling of mutual
acceptance and oneness.
A programme is designed to awaken cultural awareness and
the development of the aesthetic senses, through Art, Music,
Drama, Quiz, Debate etc.
Participation in various inter-school/ inter-district/ inter-state
competitions such as debates, elocution contests, quizzing,
dramatics et al is encouraged.
