A PLACE TO
CALL HOME
Dedicated student
accommodation
Dedicated student housing offers
well-equipped accommodation
options with the added benefit of
living alongside fellow students.
Student hostels
$135–$200 per week
Student hostels provide fully-furnished single rooms with a shared kitchen,
bathroom and recreational facilities. Bills (such as electricity) are included in
the rent. These are great places to meet fellow students and build networks.
Student apartments
$150– $390 per week
A variety of student apartment options are available in the city and near
our suburban campuses. These include fully-furnished one to six bedroom
apartments, and spaces with shared kitchen, living and bathroom facilities.
Chores and household expenses are usually negotiated with fellow tenants.
Please see the map on page 25 for site locations.
32
35. TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION
If you have not finalised your long-term accommodation,
please ensure that you arrange temporary accommodation
before arriving in Adelaide. Plan to arrive two weeks before
the start of your program to allow enough time to select
accommodation and get settled.

FAQs. Contact us for more advice on +61 8 8302 0877 or

Note: all costs are per person in Australian dollars and are
only approximate.
Residential colleges
$325–$490 per week
Located in North Adelaide, a 10 minute walk from the
city, are a number of residential colleges which offer
fully-furnished single rooms with a bed, desk, chair,
telephone and wardrobe. Most include meals and
provide access to computers, the internet, a library,
music rooms, sporting facilities and a laundry.
Non-profit housing
Several not for profit and subsidised housing options are
open to students. Eligibility criteria and waiting lists apply.
Student Rental Database
This is a great way to find the ideal place to stay. Login
for exclusive search access or use the site app from your
mobile device.
You can also look for vacancies through real estate
agencies and newspaper classifieds.
unisa.edu.au/accommodation/rental
Note: the University does not inspect private rental properties
(including those in the rental database). It is very important
that you inspect the accommodation carefully and meet future
housemates before paying money or agreeing to lease.
Private rental
$100–$350 per week
Renting privately can be a very affordable housing option
if you are prepared to shop around. You can rent an entire
property, share with other students, or live in a home with
a family, couple or single person.
Homestay / private boarding
$250–$300 per week
Students can live in a home with a family, couple or single
person. Costs include your own furnished room, meals and
utilities. Stays can be as short as four to six weeks.

You may prefer to organise your
own private housing and we have
made searching easier through our
