Assistant Creative Director, Book Clubs Division
Oversaw design and production for what became the #1 highest-grossing book clubs for SCHOLASTIC, the
largest publisher and distributor of children’s books. Supervised 10-member creative staff in design of high
volume of catalogs, direct mail, print ads and promotional materials, and worked with production to ensure
superior quality and cost effectiveness.

    •   Transformed company’s worst-performing book club into one of its best in 1 year (double-
        digit jump in readership), earning promotion and company-wide recognition.

    •   Conducted extensive design talent search, recruiting, hiring and mentoring designers who
        brought fresh perspectives to the Book Clubs Division. Provided ongoing training that improved
        work quality and group productivity by 20%.

    •   Created distinct visual identities for each grade-specific book club, strengthening each club’s

Directed design of print advertising creative for 155+ stores throughout Europe, Australia and Canada (direct
marketing, store displays, catalogs, print ads, outdoor ads, brochures, logos), ensuring brand consistency
across all projects, and that all projects met corporate guidelines. Art directed magazine ads for DISNEY
ADVENTURES, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED FOR KIDS, PEOPLE, USA TODAY and WOMAN’S DAY, and styled and
directed numerous KIDS “R” US and TOYS “R” US photo shoots.
