Operation of Higher Education Institution-Based Cooperatives in Nueva EcijaIJAEMSJORNAL
Â
This study evaluated the operation of Higher Education Institution (HEI)-based cooperatives in Nueva Ecija. It described the cooperatives’ historical antecedents and different aspects of operation in terms of organization and management, market and marketing, production/technical and financial aspects. The study also identified the challenges and problems encountered by the cooperatives. The study employed the descriptive type of research and the respondents of the study were the general managers and members from two public and two private HEIs in Nueva Ecija. The result of the study revealed that HEI-based cooperatives are classified as credit, multi-purpose, consumer and housing cooperatives, all operating for more than two decades. All of the cooperatives have the same set of key officers who managed the operation of the organization. They used fliers, social media and public announcement to disseminate information. The cooperatives primarily offered cash loans and selling of various commodities. As to fund resources, cooperatives sourced out their fund through the share of a capital subscription among the members. Top problems encountered by the cooperatives include limited membership expansion, decreased volume of sales, difficulties in marketing loan packages to faculty members with high take-home pay, time management and availability of officers and slow retrieval of land titles from National Housing Authority (NHA). Recommendations offered to improve the operation of cooperatives are continuous enhancement of their operation through the integration of technology, additional personnel, new services and crafting new policies that will benefit more members of the cooperatives.

The new Project on Education is a collaborative action research project to examine and make a case for the roles and results of community organizing in reforming schools, improving student achievement, and revitalizing communities. We used collaborative inquiry processes to bring parents, community members, educators and students together to examine and reflect on their efforts and has conducted both local and national studies on parent and community participation in school reform.
The audiences for the project include funders and educators, as well as community organizing groups themselves. The project asks what indicates success in education organizing and how is it measured. It also asks what support community organizations need to do the work well.
A set of beliefs shapes the direction of this research effort. The data that is collected is meant to make visible and credible the basis of those beliefs to the funding community and to educators. Overall, the project is grounded in the belief that parents and other community members' participation in school reform is critical to change schools and to sustain reform.
Another belief is that education organizing contributes to making communities stronger through its dual emphasis on strengthening public institutions and building public leadership. The engagement of parents and community members in school reform requires that the walls between schools and the world outside become more flexible and porous. An assumption is that permeable boundaries ultimately benefit both students and communities. Parents and educators become directly accountable to each other for children's success in school. When schools value what parents bring, teachers can better engage students in their work.
Community organizing challenges the traditional separation of school, family and community domains. Another benefit is that community organizing redresses social, economic and political inequities with the goal of supporting the educational achievement of all children.
It also serves as a catalyst for reform, reinforcing and sustaining school improvement through active connections between schools and the outside community. Through the processes of community organizing, parents and community members gain skills and power and build networks that strengthen their neighborhoods and their participation in schools. The depth of such reform should be measured, in part, by the extent teachers, administrators, and community leadership work together and sustain dialogue and effective reform activity.
In seeking to identify indicators of success of community organizing, this project documents the work of these groups and identifies evidence that their efforts are making a difference. In looking for indicators, we ask what measures of success are credible to what audiences?

Effect of Cooperative Membership on Needs Satisfaction among Staff of Tertiar...YogeshIJTSRD
Â
With the growing recognition of cooperatives as a vibrant and viable economic alternative to alleviate hardship, it does appear that members’ needs satisfaction is yet to be met. This study, therefore, examined the effect of cooperative membership on needs satisfaction among staff of tertiary institutions in Anambra State, Nigeria. The population of study and sample size which was generated using the Taro Yamane formula was 6,647 and 377 cooperative members respectively. A multi stage sampling technique was used in selecting study participants. Data were sourced from a primary source. The generated data were presented and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study hypothesis was tested using regression analysis. The findings revealed that 93 of the variation in physical needs of members is caused by the length of cooperative membership and frequency of cooperative patronage at a 5 level of significance. This study concluded that the length of cooperative membership and frequency of patronage enhances the actualization of the physical needs of members. Therefore, it was recommended among others that the cooperative societies should continue to strive in ensuring that members’ needs are reasonably met. In doing this, the cooperatives should possibly adopt a scale of preference approach in tackling members need. Cooperatives have brought significant contributions to uplift the lives of many individuals and to resolve problems related to financial, marketing and production. This study was conducted to determine whether the different registered cooperatives in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija were attaining their objectives and whether the board of directors and officers were performing their duties and responsibilities by fulfilling their management functions. Furthermore, this study was conducted to determine the different constraints the cooperatives were facing that could affect their everyday operations. The researcher utilized the descriptive research design using a survey– questionnaire technique to gather the necessary information. Moreover, the researcher with the use of T–test determined whether there is a significant difference in the extent of attainment of the cooperative objectives, level of performance of the officers in performing their management functions and the constraints affecting the operations of the organizations based on the perceptions of the officials and the members of cooperatives. Findings have shown that the existing registered cooperatives in the city were able to attain their cooperative objectives to a very great extent. It has also been found out that the board of directors and officers were able to perform their management functions very satisfactory. A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.

Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.

Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.

Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

2. TOPIC
• INFLUENCE OF COOPERATIVE EDUCATION AND TRAINING ON ECONOMIC GROWTH
OF COOPERATIVES IN SIAYA COUNTY
• A CASE OF ANYWIKO-UJWANGA COOPERATIVE SOCIETY
3. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Cooperative institutions have proven to be a major factor leading to growth especially in social and economic benefits in developing countries. In these nations the rise of
cooperative movements has become an essential part of their financial resources. With the ongoing trends in the global market today cooperative organizations have become
important to their economy as they promote community development and economic development to the states involved.
Under the colonial regime the proposition of the cooperative movement was seen being used in country of Asia and parts of Africa. The masses were cynical about them, since
they came from the colonialist. Different roles were played in the creation of the initial cooperative in the colonial era by the formation of cooperative unions in the municipal
states
This tends to show the significance of the education and training in the cooperative institutions, over the years there has seen a need and a rise in the need of training and
education as it is seen to have helped increased performances and lively hood of the members involved
Most of the cooperatives today demand one should have attained a specific level of education to be able to secure positions such as managers or supervisors, in other aspects
when one passes the education space training is offered which in then gives members the necessary skills required for the job
4. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
•In cooperatives the problem that this study addresses is how education and training has impacted the daily operations of the cooperative society. Most of the impacts
have been positive, in some scenarios we have seen cooperatives perform to their level best leading to major output from the institutions. Education and training have
since been included to be one of the qualifications needed for one to work in a cooperative institution and this has proven to be a challenge as some of the members
cannot afford to acquire the necessary education and training to be able to join some of the cooperatives for their liking.
•Locally, a number of researches have been conducted to establish how impacts of education and training in cooperatives have impacted different individuals, the need
for the training and education become a big influence in the cooperative world despite some of these cooperatives lack the right infrastructure and tools to carry out their
activities
•On conclusion there is still an unsolved question of how education and training has impacted the cooperative market despite most members and individuals not meeting
the target requirements of either being a staff or a manager depending on their level of education
5. OBJECTIVES
1.3 General objective
•To determine the influence of cooperative education and training on economic growth of cooperative societies in Siaya county
1.4 Specific objectives
•To examine the various levels of education and training one can achieve which can contribute to the economic growth of the cooperative
society in Siaya
•To analyse the employment opportunities one can get in Siaya county which influence the economic growth of cooperatives in Siaya
•To examine the living standards of members of the cooperative society and evaluate how they impact the economic growth of cooperatives in
Siaya
6. Research questions
•1: What level of education and training in Siaya county affects economic growth of cooperatives?
•2: How do employment opportunities in Siaya county affect the economic growth of cooperatives?
•3: How does an individual’s living standards in Siaya county influence the economic growth of
cooperatives?
7. CHAPTER 2
LITERATURE REVIEW
• Theoretical Review
1. Social Interdependence Theory
The social interdependence theory is relevant when each individual’s goals are accomplished under the influence of the
actions of others (Johnson & Johnson, 2005). This perspective holds that individuals help each other learn because they
care about the group and its members, and come to derive self-identity benefits from group membership (Slavin, 2011).
2. Cognitive Theory
• The Cognitive theory explores how the process of thinking and learning occurs by considering the inside of the human
mind. Perspectives. Researchers like (Slavin,1996) argued that the mental processing of the information rather than
motivating is far much better and will help improve one’s academic achievement
• Empirical review
