What is a myth ?
A myth is a traditional story, especially one
concerning the early history of a people or
explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and
typically involving supernatural beings or events.
Bermuda’s myth
• Oceanic zone where numerous disappearances were indicated.
    (Ex: Flight19 - USS CYCLOPS)

• Its second designation is Devil's Triangle.

• Estimation  190 ships and 80 planes have disappeared.

• The number of disappearances isn’t so important in front of
    following risks :
    - The surface (about 4 millions of km²)
    - The importance of the sea traffic in this zone
    - The importance of hydrate and methane’s deposits and the
    tectonic activity of the region.
    - The weather, chaotic and unpredictable conditions under these
    latitudes.

Flight 19
• The case of the Flight 19 is the most known. Indeed it is the
disappearance which aroused the biggest interest.

• The disappearance of five fighter-bombers squadron.

• On December 5th, 1945 near the Florida.

• The base of Strong Lauderdale received a call from the lieutenant
announcing that they were lost.

• A seaplane, left to their research, did not return either.

• The cause of the disappearance would be tie to the lieutenant Taylor
who used to fly from his intuition.
USS Cyclops
• One of the first stories connected to the Triangle legend and the most
    famous ship lost.

• In 1918, the USS Cyclops which is a boat, disapeared with its 306
passengers. This is the heaviest loss of the Navy except fight.

• On March the 4th, the ship started in Baltimore to Brazil. It will never
    reappear.

• The most known hypothesis is the captain’s treason. Indeed, he might
delivered the ship to the German.
