The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to paranormal or extraterrestrial activity, though documented evidence indicates that many incidents were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors. Over the years, hundreds of ships and planes have been lost in the area between Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and Fort Lauderdale, with one of the most famous occurrences being the disappearance of five U.S. Navy bombers in December 1945 during a training exercise.
