Difference between mounted boards vs. mobile boards (floor stand) Mounted boards - mounted to wall and most wiring is not seen and through the ceiling to mounted projector; orienting of board less frequent. Mobile boards -floor stands with mounted board and most wiring is seen; orient board with movement and projector needs to "move" when board moves.

Pen tray items and buttons explained *Pens-red, green, blue, black *Eraser *When a pen or eraser is picked up, the screen recognizes that an object has been picked up and the light where the item was corresponds-if you happen to lose a pen or the eraser, you can use a block of wood to hold the place and use your finger to write or erase. *When you pick up an item to write or erase with, the outside screen will change (example) *Buttons on the pen tray also activate an on-screen keyboard, right click and help function. These buttons also allow you to orient the board.

After 30 days, you will need a product key. Express Notebook software can be obtained by download and no product key is needed. However, it can be downloaded on Windows, Mac or Linux platform. Disadvantage-can not edit a file created in Express.

Picture Frame-Teacher items area "My Content" folder holds items you place for later use "Gallery Essentials" holds Admin/Evaluation, Arts, ELA, Geography, History, Math, People and Culture, Science /Tech, Special Needs and Sports and Recreation folders. In each folder, they hold specific items related to that folder. "Lesson Activity Toolkit 2.0" holds Activities, Examples, Games, Graphics and pages, which also have drop down folders that hold more specifics. When you find an item you like, drop it in "my content" for future use. "Gallery Sampler" holds all the same folders as "Gallery Essentials" but do not have Special Needs or Sports and Recreation. In each of these folders, you may have the choices of interactives and multimedia, notebook files and pages, backgrounds and themes or pictures. You will see some items repeated in several different folders.

11. To insert items on a blank page: choose item drag and drop can move item chevron that points down allows you to insert onto page, open a folder, save to my content, delete, clone, etc. You can also lock or rotate the item you insert.

12. Using PowerPoint Software on an SMARTBoard Your PowerPoint can be used on a SMARTBoard. Open Notebook Software, File>Open Find PowerPoint to insert File>Import> choose file to insert and it converts to SMARTBoard file with a different extension (.ppt-PowerPoint, .nbk or .xbk-SMART *Note: some of the layout may change from PPT > SMART Notebook file-
