3. Victoria worked at the Fink Tank production
company producing TV commercials before being
asked to join Graham Fink, the Creative Director at
M&C Saatchi as his creative right arm.
When the opportunity arose for her to become
Features Editor for a fashion magazine in Los
Angeles, she couldn’t turn it down. It was here that
the branded video content she was creating led her to
start Beast.

4. Lawrence began his career as a director by shooting and editing behind the
scenes videos for TV commercials. One day the Creative Director of Publicis
saw one of his BTS videos and bringing him to one side said that it was
better than the actual advert. One year later and with no previous TV
commercial direction experience, the same creative director hired him to
shoot and advert for IKEA. That spot went on to win an Epica Award for
Best Film Direction and was shortlisted at Cannes Lions in the same category
as Spike Jonze’s ‘Lamp’, which won the Grand Prix that year.
Lawrence has won many awards since then including 5 more Cannes
shortlist and last Year finally won a Lion with Burger King “Whopper No
Show”.
Lawrence is also a screenwriter with 5 screenplays under his belt and the
most recent of which, a horror/thriller called THE SCENT which is currently
under review with Netflix. This writing knowledge is something which is
tremendously important when it comes to content creation, since you have to
have the same plot turning points and character’s emotional journey as you
do in longer format TV and feature work.

5. Mel’s background is as a producer and show runner
for TV.
We are extremely happy to have Mel as a key
member of the Beast team. Whilst the rest of us are
busy coming up with brilliant ideas, Mel is the one
making sure that we can get them made.

6. Having an award winning editor in charge of everything
that goes out the door at Beast is crucial for us to maintain
our high standards and also our Beast style.
As an editor Tony has cut for all the big brands and has also
edited TV shows for the BBC and ITV.
Tony though is not just an editor, he is a critically acclaimed
Digital Artist with his work on display at both the Amazon
and Google offices, he is also a DGA screenwriter and way
back in the day, he designed the OASIS logo.

7. Our Directors are chosen because they come with the qualities that Beast demand. Highly
creative and intelligent individuals, they are part of the Beast team not just because of their
visceral story telling capabilities, but also because of their adaptability when in demanding
and pressured situations. Having crew with quick thinking problem solving attitudes is key
for us. Production is renowned for its unpredictability and you can have the most talented
film maker in the world, but if a rock falls on the car during a shoot, or the sun doesn’t come
out…….how are you going to make that work!?

Unexpected Result - Beyond social the client decided to buy TV media.
Extra Unexpected Result - As the only direct flight carrier to The Caymans,
British Airways bought the content. Under the British Airways Holidays
brand they are running both hero videos on their inflight service across the
entire long haul fleet. This equated to free media outlay and far outstripped
the tourist boards own allocated media spend repaying the initial
investment by an unmeasurable amount.

13. BRIEF: To create awareness and create a brand video for a small Cornish craft
beer company with 6 employees.
Deliverables: Create 1 hero video and 1 founder interview video 1 behind the
scenes video.
Result - 500% increase in website traffic

Unexpected Result - Harbour begin “Close working relationship” with well
known beer brand.
Extra Unexpected Result - Further development of “big brother” relationship

16. Beast’s latest work for Simba Sleep features England and Saracen’s rugby sensation, Maro Itoje. Beast
created a brand video “100 nights” leading up to the Wold Cup in Japan this autumn and was featured
in Campaign Magazine. We also created a further 72 assets for social media and in app videos
featuring Maro and Welsh international rugby legend, Jaimie Roberts.
