The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is a non-governmental organization in the United Kingdom that is responsible for classifying films, videos, DVDs, and video games. It is headed by a President, currently Quentin Thomas, and a Director, currently David Cooke. The BBFC assigns films ratings that determine what age groups are permitted to view the content, such as Universal for all ages, 12A for those 12 and older accompanied by an adult, and 18 for only those 18 and older.
