12 and 12A
A 12A film classification requires an adult to accompany a
child that is under the age of 12
The 12 classification is used for DVD/Blu-ray and is useful
for retailers as it allows them to sell or rent an item to a
customer that is over the age of 12
Some features that may be seen in a 12/12A rated film
include:
 Brief portrayal of sexual scenes
 Some strong language
 Moderate violence
 Brief sight of drug use but it is not dwelt upon

This classification means that no-one under the age of
15 is allowed to see a 15 film at the cinema
There may be racist, homophobic and other forms of
discriminatory language used within a 15 rated film,
but the film must not endorse this kind of behaviour

Frequent strong language
Portrayals of sexual activity
Sexual nudity
