Welcome everyone Today’s presentation: Duration: 45 minutes (approx and including rest break) www.bbab.org.uk
Aim:  How Biscuit Organisations and the Media can Work Together to Promote the Reputation of the UK’s Biscuit and Snacking Sector. More specifically: What can we (The British Biscuit Advisory Board (BBAB)) do in response to recent media activities concerning biscuit safety to highlight our own campaigning – and can we give people the information they need in a fun and engaging, yet proper and official, fashion? www.bbab.org.uk
The media: Here are some examples of some of the recent reports in the media (press/online/TV) concerning biscuit safety. www.bbab.org.uk
What we can learn from these examples: Some people clearly enjoy biscuits The public are now also scared of biscuits UK seems to have little/no biscuit education Problem biscuits are not being taken seriously Incidents could harm the biscuit and snacking sector Danger is a bigger problem than the public think www.bbab.org.uk
Good practice: Textbook example of responsible biscuit practice by Rocky Exercise: Calculate your biscuit risk using the B.I.T.E tool on the link below: http://www.rockybiscuit.co.uk/bite-tool.html www.bbab.org.uk
Interval: Take 5 mins to have a rest break and then come back. Please don’t bring any biscuit snacks back into the room. You will be tested on what we have learnt already. While you’re there try to think of how you personally can help the snacking sector. www.bbab.org.uk
What have we learned if anything? Group discussion led by presenter. www.bbab.org.uk
What next? Our next steps: Justify our existence to the public/Government. Offer the biscuit eating public our help Keep the public up-to-date with BBAB business Educate the public on all aspects of snacking safety www.bbab.org.uk
Break out group sessions Here’s a team exercise to help you get under the skin of the BBAB. NOTE: There are no wrong answers, only good and bad ones. www.bbab.org.uk
