Did you know , inscription stone was one of the historical monuments of Islam. In 1923,
inscription stone was sent at Singapore Museum as loan. When the National Museum in
Kuala Lumpur was already completed, the inscription stone was taken to Kuala Lumpur as a
loan from the Raffles Museum, Singapore. On 12 February 1987, the state of government
Terengganu written a letter to museum department to get back the inscription stone to for
exhibition in the State Museum. In 1991, cabinet decide that inscription stone return to the
state government Terengganu.
B) REASON TO LISTEN

1. The history of inscription stone.
A. In year 1887, an inscription stone in Jawi was been found at Sungai Tersat, Kuala Berang
at Hulu Terengganu. This inscription stone was found by Saiyed Husin bin Ghulam Al-
Bukhari, a merchant from Arab at mosque stairs when he was to take a wuduk. That
inscription stone was be covering wash the feet before enter the mosque.
B. According to Terengganu website, (Terengganu 3M, 2009) when an inscription stone has
been broken part on the top when it was found.
C. Refer to Utusan online east version (2009), Saiyed Husin ask villager to bring inscription
stone to Kuala Terengganu to presented to the royal Sultan Zainal Abidin III and then the
stone is placed on Bukit Puteri.

A. An inscription stone was a igneous dolerite type and not a granite stone as claim before. It
is shaped tabular as well as the external surface and rounded edges are pretty smooth edges.

B. The height of inscription stone is 78-86cm, width of the top 53 cm, bottom width of 19-
24cm and weight 214.8kg. An inscription stone have 4 surface.

important and history details about understanding Islam in Malaysia and also the prove that
Islam has been exist for a long time ago.
