The last masthead discussed, like Billboard and Mojo magazines, uses red and a bold simple font that has a gender-neutral aesthetic appeal as a clearly professional design.
This document contains a student's mind map and research for generating ideas for a poster advertising a new soap opera TV series. It discusses potential themes, taglines, images, and synergy with social media to include on the poster. The student plans to take photos needed for the poster when filming a trailer for the series. During editing, the student will combine photos, choose a font style, and add required logos and information like the air time and channel. The goal is to create a poster that attracts audiences and achieves high ratings for the new series.
This document summarizes the key design features of two double page magazine spreads. The first spread uses techniques like pull quotes, bold text, large headline and images to draw attention to important information. Columns separate information neatly and drop caps highlight paragraph starts. The second spread also uses bold text, large images and colored text to emphasize certain elements. Photos across the top provide context and the layout aims to attract a young audience with fashionable representations.

This double page magazine spread uses various design elements to attract readers' attention. Bold fonts and enlarged quotes are used to entice readers to specific content. Warm colors create a mature and romantic mood. While the small font size keeps the amount of writing from being overwhelming, the use of two columns and a larger headline help break up the text. The spread aims to represent the featured band as normal people the reader can relate to.
The document provides an analysis of the cover of a June 1997 issue of the magazine "Wired". Key elements analyzed include the reversed and outlined masthead letters that make it stand out, the controversial image of the Apple logo surrounded by barbed wire, and the bold black word "Pray" emphasizing the troubled state of Apple at the time. Overall the cover uses unusual fonts, imagery and layouts to attract potential customers.
The Kerrang masthead uses a sans-serif font suggesting a younger audience, and an exclamation point and shattered letters reference rock music. The Q magazine font is simple and clear, suggesting a wide audience. NME uses a bold font that stands out and relates to being quick with music news. The 'heat' masthead uses a bright, bold, feminine font relating to gossip and is easily recognizable in the UK. Mojo uses a serif font suggesting an older audience, and its name references the rock band The Rolling Stones.

This document provides instructions for drawing Bohr diagrams and Lewis structures. It explains that Bohr diagrams represent atoms by showing electrons arranged in shells around the nucleus, with the number of shells determined by the element's period. Lewis structures represent just the valence electrons of an atom arranged around the element symbol. The document gives step-by-step instructions for drawing diagrams for various elements like carbon, hydrogen, helium, oxygen, aluminum, and potassium. It emphasizes practicing drawing the diagrams for the first 20 elements.
1) Atoms have a nucleus surrounded by electron shells. The number of electrons equals the atomic number.
2) Electron shells can hold a certain number of electrons and fill from the innermost shell outward. The outermost shell electrons are called valence electrons.
3) To draw a Bohr diagram, find the element and atomic number, determine the number of electron shells based on its period, draw the nucleus and shells, and add the correct number of electrons in allowed shells moving counter-clockwise.

Basics to Facebook smileys
1.
2. Facebook smileys offer a perfect opportunity to freely
express yourself or add a hint of personality to a
message shared when posting a wall post, sending an
instant message or writing a message on the popular
social networking site. A smiley is perfect way to convey
your message to readers in a casual or not so casual
manner. Whether you might be felling goofy, overjoyed,
sarcastic or out-and-out ecstatic, a smiley gives a simply
way to express yourself with a simple to understand
graphical expression.
3. Smileys are a perfect way to dress up what might otherwise
be a plain massage and are simple to learn and create
on-screen with just a few simple keystrokes. Facebook
smileys appear on-screen by typing in the easy
shortcuts/symbols. For example, if wishing to add in an
expression of sadness, it is possible to include the sad
face, which is just a matter of typing a colon and round
bracket on-screen. Those two keystrokes are then
automatically converted into a digital and fun image and
viewable by both sender and recipient.
4. By using the right emotion at the right time it is possible to
take some of the weight out of a conversation. If a
conversation seems to be getting too serious, it is often
quite simple to change the course of a conversation
back to its earlier informal state by adding in an
appropriate smiley.
5. However, as the smileys seen to go undocumented on
Facebook if can be difficult when first starting out to
remember the various text shortcuts, and to help with
this it is worthwhile searching out one of the reference
lists, which can be found on quite a few online websites.
6. Besides the standard Facebook smileys, which cleverly
cover a wide-range of emotions with a face to depict the
most popular smiling face to those depicting sorrow,
which adds up to approx. twenty-five or so, it is also
possible to download a wide variety of extras to the
computer. Such additional downloads feature more
smileys, sounds, funny winks, emoticons, glitter text, etc
to help with enhancing a messaging experience.
Facebook conversations can be a lot more fun once you
have hundreds of smileys to pick and choose from.
7. Smiley faces are known to have well pre-dated today's
modern computer usage, but as soon as the instant
messaging and email systems become so popular, the
every growing collection of smiley faces have taken a
prominent position in online communication.
