Using IFTTT

What is ?

IFTTT stands for if this then that

IFTTT is a free platform that helps you do
more with all your services

Services includes all your apps and devices
you use everyday

It Connect 2 services together to perform a
certain action

The combination of 2 services
is called an Applet

IFTTT is available in both
website and mobile app today

Open your preferred browser

In this tutorial, we will use

Click Google Chrome icon

Type in the url “https://ifttt.com”

Welcome to IFTTT Home page

To use IFTTT, let’s create an account first

Sign up using your email…

…or using Google account

…or using Facebook account

Let’s use email and enter preferred email

Click Get started button

Enter password

Click Sign up button

You will arrive at this page

To start, it will ask you to pick 3 services

Let’s choose Twitter, Facebook and
Instagram

Click Continue button

These are your Recommended Applets

Click Discover More, to show more options

CREATING OUR OWN APPLET

Click username and select New Applet…

…or click My Applets and select New Applet

You will arrive at Applet builder

Click (+) this

Choose one service from these

Scroll down to reveal more options

Or Use the Search option to look

Let’s use Facebook

Click Connect button

Enter username

Click Log in button

Click OK button

Click another OK button

These are the available triggers for Facebook

Let’s choose this trigger

Click + that

Choose an action service from the list

Let’s choose Twitter

Click Authorize app button

These are available actions for Twitter

Lets choose this action

Click Create action button

Click Finish button

Applet created successfully

On means the applets is active and running

To turn off, just swipe the button to the left

This is how a deactivated applet look like

HOW TO USE THE RECOMMENDED APPLETS

Click Discover

It will show Recommended services

Click More for more options

Click this icon

Click View all collection

Choose from the list

Let’s choose Applets for Social media

These are the available Applets for social
media

Let’s choose this

This applet connects Instagram….

….with Twitter

To use, just click Turn on

Click Ok to grant permission

Enter Instagram username

Enter Instagram password

Click Login

Click Authorize button

Next, Authorize to access Twitter

Applet successfully turned on

TURNING ON AND OFF AN APPLET

Click My Applets

Lists all active and inactive Applets

On means the Applet is active

Off means the Applet is deactivated and
greyed out

To turn On an Applet, select an Off Applet

Swipe the button to the right

To turn off, swipe the button to the left

Applet successfully turned off

HOW TO SEARCH FOR SERVICES

Click Search

Search by keywords

Let’s try Facebook

Displays all Facebook Services…

…all Applets

Now let’s search by Categories

Click Calendars & scheduling

Displays all Services…

…and all Applets
