This document welcomes and provides information to new Basic Skills students at South Puget Sound Community College. It outlines the various programs offered including Adult Basic Education, GED, and ESL. It explains class schedules, instructors, expectations, testing requirements and progression pathways. Resources available to students such as computer labs, libraries, cafeterias and disability services are highlighted. Requirements for student ID cards and parking are also summarized.

13. How long will it take you to do the GED tests? You already knew the answer! It depends on you. How much time will you give yourself to meet your goal, accomplish your dreams?

26. For example, there are “designated areas” where students can smoke.

28. Each instructor has class rules. Read the class “syllabus.” One common rule is that students are expected to attend regularly. You should contact your instructor if you are sick or won’t be in class.
