The Bank of Punjab (BOP) was established in 1989 and converted to a commercial bank in 1994. It has over 405 branches across Pakistan and provides various banking services including deposits, remittances, advances for businesses, trade, industry and agriculture. The bank utilizes a variety of computer hardware and systems connected via a star topology with VPN connectivity between branches for communication. Backup is done using tape drives with tapes stored at the main branch. Security features include CCTV, fingerprint scanners, electronic document readers, and barcode scanners. The bank also offers services like SMS banking, debit cards, and bill payment options.
