Maherah wrote a letter to Ms. Burns describing her trip to her grandmother's house in Bangladesh. She took a riksha and wore traditional salwar kameez clothing with beautiful patterns and jewels. For breakfast, she had forita with egg, a delicious local dish. During the summer, people fast and pray five times a day according to their Muslim faith. The Bangladeshi flag is simple but proudly represents their country. Locals believe that if someone compliments you without saying "mashallah", you will get cursed and cry at sunset or have stomach pains, but a hujur can perform a ritual to remove the curse.
