This document classifies bacteria into three main categories: rigid thick cell wall bacteria which are further divided into free living and non-free living examples, flexible thin cell wall bacteria such as spirochetes including Treponema and Borelia, and no cell wall bacteria exemplified by Mycoplasma. It provides examples of gram positive, gram negative, acid fast, and Rickettsia and Chlamydia bacteria within the rigid thick cell wall classification.
