AN INTRODUCTION

THE ETERNAL PURPOSE

– Back on Track – That in the dispensation
of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and
which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should
be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. (Ephesians 1:10-12)
– The Glory of God – Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in
Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus
Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace,
wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (Ephesians 1:1-6)

Why Redemption? Why PLAN A1
GOD’S ETERNAL PURPOSE

When God brought Adam into the Garden of Eden, and put before him the “tree of life” of which he (Adam) was permitted
to eat from; and “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” of which he (Adam) was not permitted to eat from. God being
omniscient would have known that Adam in his human nature had the propensity to eat of the restricted tree. It is possible
to have created Adam with the full capacity to obey God’s instruction to the letter; but then there is no true obedience
without the freedom to disobey. So our God in His infinite foresight (encompassing all that the definition of the word can
be), had already made a provision for Adam’s possible choice and the consequences that may follow –
 Care or provision for the future; provident care; prudence.
 The act or power of foreseeing; prevision; prescience.
 An act of looking forward.
 Knowledge or insight gained by or as by looking forward; a view of the future.
 Surveying – a sight or reading taken on a forward point.
Foresight:
“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall
stand, and I will do all my pleasure” (Isaiah 46:10).
“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain
from the foundation of the world “ (Rev. 13:8).
“Known to God are all his works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:18).
Foresight of The Master Planner

Yes! He spoke and it was done NOT that “it can” or “it could” or even “it shall be done” BUT “it was done”. All provisions
made for all eventualities. “Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For
he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast”.
(Psalms 33:8-9)
“Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the
sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until
the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of
heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day”
(Joshua 10:12-13).
When He spoke in the beginning and man came to being He meant exactly what He said –
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And
God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”
(Gen. 1:26-28).

God’s perception of Adam’s propensity to disobey, as I said earlier, made it necessary to
provide for corrections so that the ultimate plan, PLAN A, the eternal purpose is achieved –
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none
like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure
(Isa. 46:9,10).
 To arrange a method or scheme beforehand for (any work, enterprise, or proceeding).
 A specific project or definite purpose: plans for the future.
 A design or scheme of arrangement: an elaborate plan for seating guests.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the
fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS SON,
WHOM HE HATH APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS, BY WHOM ALSO HE
MADE THE WORLDS; WHO BEING THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY, AND
THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON, AND UPHOLDING ALL THINGS BY
THE WORD OF HIS POWER, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down
on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the
angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For
unto which of the angels said he at any time, THOU ART MY SON, THIS DAY
HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE? AND AGAIN, I WILL BE TO HIM A FATHER, AND
HE SHALL BE TO ME A SON?

This He did through His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour –

Just like Peter said of Jesus, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God,
have been taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed
(Acts 2:23)
So that through Him the temporary deviation caused by Adam’s disobedience can be rectified;
and the original plan of having many sons through the “only begotten Son” Who has now become
the “first begotten Son” can be achieved –
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life”
(John 3:16).
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he
might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and
whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified”
(Rom. 8:29,30).

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
(1Thes. 2:12)
This contingency plan He had already made before He put Adam in the Garden of Eden
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world”
(Matt. 25:34).
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings
in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”
(Eph. 1:3-4).

THE INTERVENTION

Everyone is in need of redemption. Our natural condition was characterized by guilt: “all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God”. Christ’s redemption has freed us from guilt, being “justified freely by His
grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”.
The benefits of redemption include eternal life forgiveness of sins righteousness, freedom from the law’s
curse, adoption into God’s family, deliverance from sin’s bondage, peace with God, and the indwelling of the
Holy Spirit. To be redeemed, then, is to be forgiven, holy, justified, free, adopted, and reconciled.

Redeem - gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment.

Compensatory - Providing, effecting, or aiming at compensation, in particular. (Of a payment)
Intended to recompense someone who has experienced loss, suffering, or injury.
Retrieve - Get (something) back; regain possession of.
Regain - Obtain possession or use of (something, typically something abstract) again after losing it.
Reach - (a place, position, or thing) again; get back to.
Reclaim - Retrieve or recover (something previously lost, given, or paid); obtain the return of.
The action or process of reclaiming or being reclaimed: "beyond reclaim".

It will be futile to look at Redemption without mentioning Creation; as redemption is a recovery phase of
God’s original desire that is expressed in creation: It is a restoration of what already belongs to man and
was lost through Adam’s choices – The Glory of God.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned
(Romans 5:12)
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the
similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
(Romans 5:14)
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much
more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto
many.
(Romans 5:15)

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces
from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet
we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we
like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of
us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
(Isaiah 53:3-7)
To create means to start, initiate, design, form, fashion, make, craft, while to redeem means,
to restore, recover, buy back, compensate for, liberate, rescue or release. Redemption can
then be seen as an act that is necessary to put the purpose of creation back on track.
Redemption is related to us; it benefits us by saving us and qualifying us for eternal life again;
while creation is related to God and God's work – His eternal purpose.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto
glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
(Heb. 2:10)

Sin
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men,
because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death
reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam,
who is a type of Him who was to come. (Romans 5:12-14)
For if by the one man’s
offense death reigned
through the one, much
more those who receive
abundance of grace
and of the gift of
righteousness will reign
in life through the
One, Jesus Christ.

Therefore I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoils with
the strong, because He has poured out His life unto death, and He was numbered
among the transgressors. Yet He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the
transgressors. (Isaiah 53:12)

IF YOU believe IN Jesus AND
repentant OF YOUR SINS THEN
you are saved.
To Repent means: Being sincerely sorry for your sins and bringing them before
God (between you and Him); with the aim of not going back to them.
Believe in Jesus Christ: To be the son of God; died and rose up again, and
that His finished work on the Cross is more than enough to set you free.

In our world today, where new and more complicated problems of seem to emanate from mans dealings with others and even
more disturbing, man’s dealing with himself. An age when man have now decided to create a culture of ‘managing his
problems’ instead of seeking a solution. All kinds of ‘programmes’ are proffered to solve these problems but the real
intensions of proffering this solution is the lust for money and fame – “For the love of money is the root of all evil”. Man
keep going round and round in circles but no solution.
We can see in the scriptures that God, the Master Planner has already provided a solution right from the foundation of the
world; that solution based on His plan to start a new tribe, a new race entirely. This solution does not involve tampering
around with the old so that ‘it can be managed’. He goes deep down to the root and cuts us off ( He cuts us off from our
connection to Adam) and then begins a new tribe, a new race. But the wonder and the glory of it is that he starts the
tribe, the new race within the shell of the old. Outwardly, we remain unchanged. Our bodies are still subject to decrepitude
and decay and death. Yet, within, a new man has begun if we have EXERCISED FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AND
REPENTED. God's solution is to end the curse of Adam and to release within us the power of a new life, THE LIFE OF
JESUS HIMSELF.

Justification Of Man

A good reason or explanation for something
Justification is the “Act of God” by which (according to His promise) He approves us
based on His own standard of righteousness. This He can legally do without compromising
His divine righteousness because of the finished redemptive work of our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary. This justification can only be obtained through the
grace of God and not by our works.

WHY We Do It.
Not So Much About What We Do
But
Apart from those things that we can do that are obviously wrong like we have been instructed in
the ten commandments; there are also a lot of things that we do that are seemingly right but are
offensive to the Lord. What have we counted on to do this ‘right’ things? Our own abilities,
education, sophistication, training, background, ‘greatness’ etc.? Or is it CHRIST IN ME THE HOPE
OF GLORY - do we count on the God who indwells us to do the work and to carry it through to
success, IN HIS EYES IF NOT IN THE EYES OF MEN which is what pleases Him?
Our Motives How Pleasing Are They To God?

The Judgment Seat of Christ
This is our one to one evaluation of what our life has actually been like as the Lord sees it; as
He takes us back through all the scenes of our life and points out to us the real nature of what
we did; we said and what was the motive behind them all. It is a time of disclosure to us of what
has been hidden in the silent, inner core of our own hearts.
For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that
each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held
responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities].

Our Heavenly Appraisal How Pleasing Are Our Attitudes?
But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly [recognizing our shortcomings and
correcting our behavior], we would not be judged.
This is also the one to one evaluation of our reaction to situation the Lord has allowed to come our way;
what attitudes we should have had or should not have had? what was our attitude like? A time when we see
the truth about ourselves – the level and potential of evil that lurks in the inner recesses of our heart; our
push to seek to be aware of how wrong we have been along the line and equally seek to make mends where
possible. Depending ever more so on the Holy Spirit for our OUR ACTIVE PURSUIT OF SANCTIFICATION.

Electrical: Abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)

THE WITNESSES
From the Jordan to the cross both the symbol and the substance
were with our great Master, while his own personal purity, and his
gift of life to others, proved his mission to be from above.

2 Ways of Death
Through Crucifixion
PERICARDIAL EFFUSION
prolonged rapid heartbeat resulting
from hypovolemic shock that causes
fluid to gather in the area around
the heart.
The Roman executioners saw that the other two crucifixion victims were still alive and broke their legs so
they would no longer be able to push themselves up to breathe, resulting in death within minutes. In the
case of Jesus, they saw He had become unconscious and likely was already dead. To confirm, a spear was
shoved into His side, likely under His ribs, that ruptured the pericardial sack, resulting in a flow of both
blood and water.

Death by crucifixion is always produced by pericardial effusion - Fluid that had gathered in
the area around the heart through hypovolemic shock (as a result of prolonged rapid
heartbeat); and asphyxiation (a condition of severely deficient supply of oxygen to the body
that arises from abnormal breathing),
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the

When the flesh of Jesus Christ was torn, and at the same time the curtain (that acted as a

So that from the Jordan to the cross both the symbol and the substance were with our great Master,
while his own personal purity, and his gift of life to others, proved his mission to be from above, and again,
as John testifies-
Even after death, our Lord, Jesus Christ retained the instructive symbol by giving forth from his pierced
heart water as well as blood. The blood and water that flowed out, symbolized those two great benefits
which all believers partake of through Jesus Christ, justification and sanctification; blood for atonement,
water for purification. They both flow from the pierced side of our Redeemer. To Christ Jesus crucified
we owe merit for our justification, and Spirit and grace for our sanctification.

Jesus’ whole doctrine is
fitly comparable to
purifying and life-giving
water, and it operated and
still operates upon men's
hearts in that manner.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born of water and
of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the
kingdom of God.
(John 3:5)
Jesus answered her, If you had only known and
had recognized God’s gift and Who this is that is
saying to you, Give Me a drink, you would have
asked Him [instead] and He would have given you
living water…… But whoever takes a drink of the
water that I will give him shall never, no never,
be thirsty any more. But the water that I will
give him shall become a spring of water welling
up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him
unto (into, for) eternal life.
(John 4:10, 14)
Our Lord Jesus came by water in the sense
of communicating a new, pure, and purifying
life to men; for the water is the Emblem of
the new life which springs up within the soul
of a believer.
Water For Purification
Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our
bodies washed with pure water.
(Hebrews 10:22)

I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing
beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God
maketh from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:10)

Blood For Atonement,

And he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram. And he slew it;
and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great
toe of his right foot. And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of
their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.
(Leviticus 8:22-24)
Jesus Christ was revealed as God's Son by
his baptism in water and by shedding his
blood on the cross - not by water only, but by
water and blood.
And almost all things are by the law purged
with blood; and without shedding of blood is
no remission.(Hebrews 9:22).
Who gave himself for us, that he might
redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto
himself a peculiar people, zealous of good
works.(Titus 2:14)
The only way for Him to prove Himself as the Messiah prophesied was to shed His own blood. No matter
how pure the life he led, had he never died and ressurected, he could not have been the Savior appointed
to bear the iniquity of us all.
Because Jesus Christ through the
Eternal Holy Spirit, offered Himself
without spot unto God, our consciences
can be purged.

THREE WITNESSES OF JESUS. (Spirit)
And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them. And he sprinkled thereof
upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them. And he poured of the
anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him. (Leviticus 8:10-12)
"The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power
of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also
that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be
called the Son of God.“ (Luke 1:35)
"And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with
water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see
the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he
which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost." (John 1:33)
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed
me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal
the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind; to set at liberty them
that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power, who went about doing good, and healing an that were
oppressed of the devil, for God was with him." (Acts 10:38 )
IN HIS MANIFESTATION AS HUMAN HOLY SPIRIT WITNESSED TO HIS HUMANITY
DURING HIS EARTHLY MINISTRY HIS REWARD
Therefore being by the right hand of God
exalted, and having received of the Father the
promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth
this, which ye now see and hear.
(Acts 2:33)

IF YOU believe IN Jesus
AND repentant OF YOUR
SINS THEN you are saved.
To Repent means: Being sincerely sorry for your sins and
bringing them before God (between you and Him); with the
aim of not going back to them.
Believe in Jesus Christ: To be the son of God; died and
rose up again, and that His finished work on the Cross is
more than enough to set you free.

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and
praying, the heaven was opened, AND THE HOLY GHOST DESCENDED IN A BODILY SHAPE LIKE A
DOVE UPON HIM, AND A VOICE CAME FROM HEAVEN, WHICH SAID, THOU ART MY BELOVED
SON; IN THEE I AM WELL PLEASED. (Luke 3:21, 22)
And Jesus being full of the
Holy Ghost returned from
Jordan, and was led by the
Spirit into the wilderness.
(Luke 4:1)

"This is my beloved
Son, in whom I am
well pleased.“ (Matthew 3:17; 17:5)

DIED. THIS RESURRECTED, PHYSICAL BODY WAS A GLORIFIED, SPIRITUAL

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in
these last times for you, (1 Peter 1:20)
Though being the Son of God (from the beginning and continually so); He became
descendant of David’s so as to be able to relate to, and share our weaknesses; He was
then transformed by the Spirit of Holiness at the resurrection into a new era of His
personal human existence (2 Corinthians 13:4 AMP)
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was
made a quickening spirit. (1 Corinthians 15:45)
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou
wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:(Hebrews 10:5)

Applying Romans 6 to a saved Christian; truly saved He ‘knows’ that the Lord Jesus not only
died to CLEANSE AWAY OUR SINS, but that when He died He included us sinners in His
death; so that not only were our sins dealt with, but we ourselves were dealt with too.
‘The believer’s eyes are opened and HE KNOWS HE HAS BEEN CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST’

We pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant us
a spirit of wisdom and of revelation that gives us a deep and personal and intimate
