The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward
us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
What is this promise?
God, According To His
Will By The Holy Spirit:
Removes Man’s sins and Their Consequences ; Remove
the man from Sin (within) & Gives Him Grace For
Righteousness.
The law? ‘And Sanctification’????

The reality of any human being to live according to God's design and purpose depends on his or
her spiritual growth. This growth follows a twofold process of obtaining freedom from sin -
The mortification of the old nature,
The vivification of the new nature.
and
If we are not fully emancipated from the Law we can never know full
emancipation from sin,
So what is the difference between deliverance from sin and deliverance
from the Law?
But firstly, WITHOUT BEING FULLY DELIVERED FROM THE
LAW; IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW FULL DELIVERANCE
FROM SIN.
The law? ‘And Sanctification’????

IF YOU believe IN
Jesus AND repentant
OF YOUR SINS
THEN you are
saved.
To Repent means: Being sincerely sorry for your sins and bringing them before
God (between you and Him); with the aim of not going back to them.
Believe in Jesus Christ: To be the son of God; died and rose up again, and
that His finished work on the Cross is more than enough to set you free.

In our world today, where new and more complicated problems of seem to emanate from mans dealings with others and even
more disturbing, man’s dealing with himself. An age when man have now decided to create a culture of ‘managing his
problems’ instead of seeking a solution. All kinds of ‘programmes’ are proffered to solve these problems but the real
intensions of proffering this solution is the lust for money and fame – “For the love of money is the root of all evil”. Man
keep going round and round in circles but ‘no solution’.
We can see in the scriptures that God, the Master Planner has already provided a solution right from the foundation of the
world; that solution based on His plan to start a new tribe, a new race entirely. This solution does not involve tampering
around with the old so that ‘it can be managed’. He goes deep down to the root and cuts us off ( He cuts us off from our
connection to Adam) and then begins a new tribe, a new race. But the wonder and the glory of it is that he starts the
tribe, the new race within the shell of the old. Outwardly, we remain unchanged. Our bodies are still subject to decrepitude
and decay and death. Yet, within, a new man has begun if we have exercised faith in Jesus Christ and repented. God's
solution is to end the curse of Adam and to release within us the power of a new life, the life of Jesus himself.

THE FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF THE LAW

What then do we conclude? Is the Law
identical with sin? Certainly not! Nevertheless,
if it had not been for the Law, I should not
have recognized sin or have known its meaning.
[For instance] I would not have known about
covetousness [would have had no consciousness
of sin or sense of guilt] if the Law had not
[repeatedly] said, You shall not covet and have
an evil desire [for one thing and another].
(Romans 7:7, 8)
The Function And Purpose of The Law
Law - standard of conduct that
we are expected to live up to.
Not only are we freed from sin, as Paul points out, but we are freed from the Law as well. The Law does
its work (condemns us), but we are no longer under Law if we are resting in Christ. Therefore, the Law does
not serve any useful purpose in delivering us from sin apart from flashing the search light on it (sin) and
drive us back to Christ Jesus.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be
justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
(Romans 3:20)
For the law made nothing
perfect, but the bringing in
of a better hope did; by the
which we draw nigh unto God.
(Hebrews 7:19)
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. (1 Corinthians 15:56)

"The commandment came,"
The writer of this epistle, Apostle Paul, like many of us today, was protected and sheltered and
kept from exposure to serious temptations. He was raised in the Jewish culture, where everyone
around him was sheltered also. Here is a man like many any other believers have grown up in a home
where you have been protected and sheltered, and you have run with a crowd of friends who,
likewise, have been kept from exposure to various things. You haven't fallen into evil.

law is only interested in highlighting the disobedience which leads eventually to death.

which was designed and intended

When a holy law is applied (just
like a searchlight) to sinful man,
then his sinfulness comes out in
full display.

If the emergency goal keeper takes no part in the game, then he has been of no use to the coach
or team: But then, if the coach now says aahh!!!! we are now winning let us give him the chance to
play the last ten minutes of the match so that (at least) the team’s outlay on him is not wasted.
Imagine in a football team, as a contingency plan, the coach brings in a very suspect
goalkeeper called “Calamity” as possible substitute for the No 1 goalkeeper in the event that
there may be a need for the No 1 keeper to come off or he could even be sent off.
He then comes on and the first action he makes is to commit a bad foul for a penalty. The

was sitting still on the bench as when he went on the field of play, but it was the coach’s demands that
made manifest the calamity that was all the time in his make-up, whether he was active or inactive.

We are all sinners by nature. If God asks nothing of us, all seems to go well, but as soon as He demands something
of us the occasion is provided for a grand display of our sinfulness.
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may
be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no
flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there
is no difference: (Romans 3:19-22)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23).
When the Law is applied: Our weaknesses manifest.

At this point the believer presents himself to God as alive from the dead. He sees
that he has no more right over himself.
This (ideally) should herald the start of a wonderful Christian experience BUT THEN Sin, the old
master, is still about, but the slave who served him has been put to death and so is out of reach
and his members are unemployed. The looter’s hand is unemployed, the liar’s tongue is
unemployed, and these members are now available to be used instead “as instruments of
righteousness unto God” (Romans 6:13).

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal
body, that ye should obey it in the lusts
thereof. Neither yield ye your members as
instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but
yield yourselves unto God, as those that are
alive from the dead, and your members as
instruments of righteousness unto God.

We know that the Law is spiritual, but I am a creature of the
flesh [worldly, self-reliant—carnal and unspiritual], sold into slavery

INTO SLAVERY UNDER [THE CONTROL
OF] SIN.(Romans 7:14)
FOR I KNOW THAT NOTHING GOOD DWELLS
WITHIN ME, THAT IS, IN MY FLESH. I can will
what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the
intention and urge to do what is right, but no
power to carry it out.].(Romans 7:18)
O thank God! [He will!] through Jesus
Christ (the Anointed One) our Lord! So
then indeed I, of myself with the mind
and heart, serve the Law of God, but
with the flesh the law of sin.(Romans

NEXT, we will be looking at

You might say – "Why do I have to know and experience this Jesus you are going on about?" Here is why, when and how you can
get to know Him.
Admit your spiritual need.
We all are sinners: nobody likes that title “SINNER”, but the bible says in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of
God”.
What is the result of sin?
In Romans 6:23 we read “The wages of sin is death…” in other words, every sin is another step towards death. One thing that we need to
remember is that God never sends anyone to hell; one can send himself there by rejecting the truth.
Since we can never measure up to God’s standards by our own strength; God has reached out to mankind.
In Romans 5:8 we read, “God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. It is Jesus,
after all, who is the source of life’s greatest high.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be
saved.” (John 3:16-17).
What must a person do to accept this gift?
Most Importantly!!!!!

Simply receive it! Matthew 11:28 states –“come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you
and learn from me…for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”.
Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with
him, and he with me” Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, seeking entrance into your life to give you peace, change you for the best.
John 1:12 says: “For as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God”.
If you haven't already received Christ as your Saviour, don't put it off another day! Take time right now to reflect on the state
of your life, how does Romans 3:23 apply to you? Ask God to empower you to see the true state of your heart – “The heart
of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) then when enabled, invite
Jesus into your life. Confess your sins. Receive His forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. You might pray something like
this:
Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. Thank You for dying on the cross
for my sins. Thank You for giving me eternal life. Help me to live my life in a way that pleases
You, for whatever time You give me here on earth. I look forward to living forever in Heaven
with You. Amen.
