AN INTRODUCTION

THE ETERNAL PURPOSE

A person with the ability or power to use, control, or dispose of something. • Eminently skilled in. •
Carrying on one’s trade independently, rather than a worker employed by another.
“He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power: his
understanding is infinite”
(Psalm 147:4-5).
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and
night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone
out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, which
is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the
end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof “
(Psalms 19:1-6).
The heavens declare His Glory and the firmament exhibit His mastery. Imagine the mastery He displays
daily with the workings within the firmament; the sun and the moon know the exact time for each one to
appear and withdraw itself at any point on earth; they are never late nor too early or call in sick for work
except on an occasions when the Lord wants to show his omnipotence .
Master:

Yes! He spoke and it was done NOT that “it can” or “it could” or even “it shall be done” BUT “it was done”. All provisions
made for all eventualities. “Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For
he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast”.
(Psalms 33:8-9)
“Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the
sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until
the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of
heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day”
(Joshua 10:12-13).
When He spoke in the beginning and man came to being He meant exactly what He said –
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And
God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”
(Gen. 1:26-28).
Master:

When God brought Adam into the Garden of Eden, and put before him the “tree of life” of which he (Adam) was
permitted to eat from; and “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” of which he (Adam) was not permitted to
eat from. God being omniscient would have known that Adam in his human nature had the propensity to eat of the
restricted tree. It is possible to have created Adam with the full capacity to obey God’s instruction to the letter;
but then there is no true obedience without the freedom to disobey. So our God in His infinite foresight
(encompassing all that the definition of the word can be), had already made a provision for Adam’s possible choice
and the consequences that may follow –
 Care or provision for the future; provident care; prudence.
 The act or power of foreseeing; prevision; prescience.
 An act of looking forward.
 Knowledge or insight gained by or as by looking forward; a view of the future.
 Surveying – a sight or reading taken on a forward point.
Foresight
:
“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall
stand, and I will do all my pleasure” (Isaiah 46:10).
“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain
from the foundation of the world “ (Rev. 13:8).
“Known to God are all his works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:18).

Plan:
 A scheme or method of acting, doing, proceeding, making, etc: developed in advance: battle plans.
God’s perception of Adam’s propensity to disobey, as I said earlier, made it necessary to
provide for corrections so that the ultimate plan, PLAN A, the eternal purpose is achieved –
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none
like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure
(Isa. 46:9,10).
 To arrange a method or scheme beforehand for (any work, enterprise, or proceeding).
 A specific project or definite purpose: plans for the future.
 A design or scheme of arrangement: an elaborate plan for seating guests.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the
fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS SON,
WHOM HE HATH APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS, BY WHOM ALSO HE
MADE THE WORLDS; WHO BEING THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY, AND
THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON, AND UPHOLDING ALL THINGS BY
THE WORD OF HIS POWER, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down
on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the
angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For
unto which of the angels said he at any time, THOU ART MY SON, THIS DAY
HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE? AND AGAIN, I WILL BE TO HIM A FATHER, AND
HE SHALL BE TO ME A SON?

This He did through His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour –

Just like Peter said of Jesus, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God,
have been taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed
(Acts 2:23)
So that through Him the temporary deviation caused by Adam’s disobedience can be rectified;
and the original plan of having many sons through the “only begotten Son” Who has now become
the “first begotten Son” can be achieved –
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life”
(John 3:16).
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he
might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and
whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified”
(Rom. 8:29,30).

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
(1Thes. 2:12)
This contingency plan He had already made before He put Adam in the Garden of Eden
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world”
(Matt. 25:34).
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings
in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”
(Eph. 1:3-4).

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for
ever. Amen
(Matt. 6:13).
God’s Kingdom is the domain, the realm where due to His attributes (His being
Life and Spirit; His Omnipotence; His Omnipresence; His Omniscience; His being
Infinite; His Nature of Love and ultimately His Immutability); He exerts or
exercises His power so that He may manifest, express or display His glory.
“And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in
God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places
might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in
Christ Jesus our Lord”.
(Eph. 3:912).
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gave us a hint on the importance of why we need to “walk worthy” of
God in other to dwell in this domain or realm; when He urged us to vehemently seek the Father to help us
fight against the one thing that can render us unfit for this realm – sin.

If God has deliberately in His own infinite wisdom and mercy (1 Cor. 2:7-9), made us who
He foreknew and had pre-destined and called to believe in (John 3:16) and be conformed to
the image of His Son Jesus Christ; And even from the beginning had also made provisions
for any eventualities by justifying us through the “LAMB SLAIN FROM THE
FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD” (Rev. 13:8); just so that we can be partakers of this
mystery of exercising or exerting His glory (Rom. 8:29-30):
Then the word OBEDIENCE shows it’s prevalence again. SIN IS THE
BANE OF THIS CALL TO WALK WITH GOD; JUST AS OBEDIENCE
IS WHAT KEEPS US ON TRACK. Imagine taking a dog that will not obey
you for a walk in the park or even more so to a dog competition or horse
race with a dog or horse who will not obey your instructions.

So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created
them. And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the
earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air,
and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
(Genesis 1:27-28 Amp.)

We may look upon Adam's power as supernatural and miraculous, but so far as
Adam was concerned these abilities were NOT MIRACULOUS BUT HUMAN,
NOT SUPERNATURAL BUT NATURAL.

THE SERPENT’S BAIT
For God knows that on the
day you eat from it your
eyes will be opened [that is,
you will have greater
awareness], and YOU
WILL BE LIKE GOD,
knowing [the difference
between] good and evil.”

And if we eat
this fruit we will
have God's
authority,
wisdom, and
power
So there is a
gulf between
God’s capabilities
and our
capabilities
IT ALL ENDED IN THE FALL OF MAN:
AND MAN LOOSING ACCESS TO IT ALL

Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not
physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the
fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that
creeps and crawls on the earth.”

What Did He Actually Have Before The Fall?
CAPABILITIES TO BECOME LIKE GOD
God creating man is for man to be transformed according to His image. God wanted Adam to be like
Him. The devil said, "You shall be as God.". BUT GOD'S ORIGINAL INTENTION WAS THAT ADAM
SHOULD BE TRANSFORMED TO BECOME LIKE HIM
BEFORE THE FALL; ADAM ALREADY HAD
THE CAPABILITIES TO BECOME LIKE GOD

“Man’s action should not be governed by the knowledge of good and evil; IT SHOULD BE MOTIVATED BY A
SENSE OF OBEDIENCE.
The principle of good and evil is to live according to what is right or what is wrong. Before Adam and eve ate the
forbidden fruit their right and wrong where in God’s hand. If they did not live before God they knew nothing at
all, for their right and wrong actually where in God. By taking the fruit of tree of the knowledge good and evil,
they found a source of right and wrong in other than God Himself. Consequently, after the fall men need not find
in God the sense of right or wrong. They have it in themselves. This is the result of the fall.
The work of Redemption is to bring us back to the place where we will now find our right and wrong in
God.”
The Humbled and Exalted Christ
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance
as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly
exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven,
and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)

CAPABILITIES TO BECOME LIKE GOD
“but [only] from the tree of the
knowledge (recognition) of good
and evil you shall not eat,
otherwise on the day that you eat
from it, YOU SHALL
MOST CERTAINLY DIE
[because of your disobedience].”

Die both spiritually and physically, physical death in the sense of becoming
mortal; they were created immortal.

In our world today, where new and more complicated problems of seem to emanate from mans dealings with others and even
more disturbing, man’s dealing with himself. An age when man have now decided to create a culture of ‘managing his
problems’ instead of seeking a solution. All kinds of ‘programmes’ are proffered to solve these problems but the real
intensions of proffering this solution is the lust for money and fame – “For the love of money is the root of all evil”. Man
keep going round and round in circles but no solution.
We can see in the scriptures that God, the Master Planner has already provided a solution right from the foundation of the
world; that solution based on His plan to start a new tribe, a new race entirely. This solution does not involve tampering
around with the old so that ‘it can be managed’. He goes deep down to the root and cuts us off ( He cuts us off from our
connection to Adam) and then begins a new tribe, a new race. But the wonder and the glory of it is that he starts the
tribe, the new race within the shell of the old. Outwardly, we remain unchanged. Our bodies are still subject to decrepitude
and decay and death. Yet, within, a new man has begun if we have EXERCISED FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AND
REPENTED. God's solution is to end the curse of Adam and to release within us the power of a new life, THE LIFE OF
JESUS HIMSELF.

COMPONENTS OF REGENERATION
The Temptation and Fall of Man
So the serpent (or Adam’s indifference) put Eve in a position to disobey God and subsequently made
her husband Adam do the same. This marked the beginning of sin in mankind.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely
die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said
to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said
to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the
serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes
will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was
good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit
and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

God’s Provision For Our Escape From Our Sinful Inheritance From Adam

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:23)
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men,
because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death
reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam,
who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many
died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift
is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in
condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s
offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of
righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s
righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many
were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

“GOD’S REVELATION OF HIMSELF TO MAN HAS BEEN A PROGRESSIVE ONE.- TRUTH IN GENERAL HAS BEEN
REVEALED PROGRESSIVELY. PROPHECY, THE DIVINE HISTORY OF THE FUTURE, CONSISTS OF A SERIES OF
PROGRESSIVE REVELATIONS.- PRACTICAL RESULTS OF THE COMPREHENSION AND APPLICATION OF THIS
PRINCIPLE. God has been pleased to make three great revelations of Himself to man: his Works; his Word; and his Son, and
these revelations have been progressive in character. Nature, the Law, the Gospel; a silent material universe, an inspired Book,

1. He needed to be born “under the law” because of the fact that we that are to be saved have failed to
fulfil God’s Law. He had to come in the flesh, under the Law, to fulfil the Law on our behalf - NOT
DESTROY IT .

Definition of Justice
The mercy and justice of God have never contradicted each other; just as the mercy of God
encompasses pity, clemency, forgiveness, kindness, sympathy, understanding, leniency, benevolence;
same also goes for His justice – for those who walk on its (Justice of God) path:
I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice. Bestowing wealth on those who love me
and making their treasuries full. (Prov. 8:20-21)
In fact, our perfect Creator balances the two qualities with precision. Here again His transcendence
and accompanying attributes make it possible for Him to do this easily: Justice is God’s fair and
impartial treatment of all people. The justice of God is a necessary connect of His holiness or moral
excellence. Since God is infinitely and eternally perfect, He must be impartial in His judgments and
always treat His creatures with equity:
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God
trieth the hearts and reins. My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart. God judgeth the
righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. (Psalm 7:9-11)

The wrath of God
And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten
with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For
unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will
ask the more.

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be
judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For
when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a
law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and
their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; In the day when God shall judge the secrets of
men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

The rule of judgment is the standard of God's law as revealed to men. Just as it has been revealed to
one who to some extent says “I believe in God” or “I believe in someone up there”; so does the heathen
by the law have it written on their hearts .

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress
the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain
to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have
been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
(Romans 1:18-20)
For thus saith the Lord God of Israel
unto me; Take the wine cup of this
fury at my hand, and cause all the
nations, to whom I send thee, to drink
it. And they shall drink, and be moved,
and be mad, because of the sword
that I will send among them.

So Apostle Paul buttresses this when He says in this verses of Romans 1:
“Justice and judgment are
the habitation of thy
throne: mercy and truth
shall go before thy face.”

These three concepts really need to be seen in reverse order – REVELATION, SUPPRESSION, and then
WRATH. They teach God has given a revelation of Himself in nature sufficient to lead any right thinking
man or woman to seek Him out and worship Him, but that, instead of doing this, people suppress this
revelation. They deny it so that they can justify their immorality and wickedness, IF THEY ARE ABLE TO
MAKE THEMSELVES BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO GOD WHO SEES ALL THINGS; THEN THEY DO
NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW WHERE THE ACCEPTANCE OF HIS EXISTENCE WILL LEAD THEM. It is
because of this intentional and immoral suppression of the truth about God by human beings that the
wrath of God comes upon them.

Why Would The wrath of God Be Revealed From Heaven
The third is God’s prior revelation of Himself to those very people who suppress the truth about Him.
The first is wrath itself. It is being revealed from heaven against the ungodly.
The second is suppression of the truth about God by human beings.

The Jew who "sinned in the law shall be judged by the law"

Apostle Paul gives us the obvious answer
:
"There is none righteous, no, not one...." (Romans 3:10).
Judgement is an action that has at its core a legal matter; as the word infers, It describes God’s
determined resolve with regards to a sinner under trial before the tribunal of a God who:
Is Life – He is the essence of the breathe of life
Is Spirit – It is impossible to see Him with human eyes, but through the eye of the spirit
Omnipotence – He has the ultimate power to do whatever He wills.
Omnipresence – He fills the whole of creation which makes it possible for Him to be present
everywhere at once
Omniscience – He knows all things that can be known in the past, present, future, so nothing
can escape His knowledge
Infinity – He is, if I may say, interwoven into all things.
Nature of Love – God’s love for us is just as His attribute of being immutable, it cannot
change
Immutability – God cannot change because He is the beginning and end ‘Alpha & Omega’

The goodness of God leads man to repentance or can we say it should lead man to repentance:
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to
repentance? (Romans 2:4)
Man’s sinful ways naturally should lead to judgement but instead, God extends His mercy to man:
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. (Psalm 25:8)
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5: 7-8)

Therefore, since we are justified ([a]acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through
faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to [b]enjoy] peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (Romans 5:1 AMP)
For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. (Romans 2:13)
For it is not merely hearing the Law [read] that makes one righteous before God, but it is the doers of the Law who
will be held guiltless and acquitted and justified. (Romans 2:13 AMP)
It is important to note that all the obedience that we perform as Christians is the fruit that
comes from the faith-established union, not a works-established union we have with our Lord
Jesus. All obedience is an evidence of our abiding in Him.
Doing the bidding of the law will not be the basis of our being in God’s favour, BUT THE
EVIDENCE THAT WE ARE TRUSTING JESUS CHRIST, UNITED TO HIM, and thus
is the basis of our qualification on the day of judgement
The Function And Purpose of The Law

"a knowledge or sense of right and wrong, with a compulsion to do right; moral judgement that opposes the
violation of a previously recognized ethical principle and that leads to feelings of guilt."
So in our modern day culture where there is a daily attempt to ‘program’ our minds to fit
into this agenda or the other; “compulsion to do right” and “moral judgement” are ever so
subjective and moving further away from what the laws of God says. The world's thinking
overrides and drowns out the inner voice of the true conscience that God put within man.
To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing
is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. (Titus 1:15)
As far as man is concerned, judgement is a function of our conscience. The dictionary
defines the conscience as:
The conscience of the unregenerate man as we can see from the dictionary definition is governed by:
“Moral judgement”
“compulsion to do right”

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an
end; but establish the just: for the righteous God
trieth the hearts and reins. My defence is of God,
which saveth the upright in heart. God judgeth
the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked
every day.
(Psalm 7:9-11)

Here (in Psalm 7:9-11) we see how God blesses and rewards they that do good; and His judgment the
righteous and vents His anger on the wicked. So where do we place this balance between God’s
Righteousness/Justice and His Goodness/Holiness? As it is very likely that our experiences of life,
spiritual experiences or exposure to certain erroneous teachings can naturally make us to tilt to one end
of the spectrum or the other:
BEHOLD THEREFORE THE GOODNESS AND SEVERITY OF GOD:
on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness:
otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. (Romans 11:22)
It is by faith (substance of things hoped for and evidence of things we cannot see) that we have God’s
righteousness manifested to us
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live
by faith”. (Romans 1:17)

Propitiation by Jesus Christ

PROPITIATION
The work He did on the cross to appease and satisfy God's
wrath so that God would be able to pardon sinners who trust in
Jesus Christ. It is God’s way of making amends for our sins.

Thank God, He did not give up man. Out of love, He came in His Son
to accomplish an eternal redemption for man. Jesus Christ is the
provision God has made for the blunders he had perceived that man
will make along the way.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. …..And the Word became flesh
an d dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace
and truth.” (John 1:1,14)
The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8)
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is
everyone who hangs on a tree”[a]), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus,
that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14)
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
(2 Cor. 5:21)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
(John 14:6)
“This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation
in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:11-12)
”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through
Him might be saved.”
(John 3:16-17)
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for
all, having obtained eternal redemption. …. so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those
who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
(Heb. 9:12; 28).

Despite God’s unwavering love, man prefers sin

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth

but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He
also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness
of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
(Matthew 13:19-22)

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
(Romans 5:8)
“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom
of God.” (John 3:3)
“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by
whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon

This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit
who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (1 John 5:6-7)
Propitiation by Jesus Christ Grace from Cross at Calvary
Points to what God has received from the death of Christ, whether
or not a sinner trusts Jesus Christ.

This He does by A PROCESS IN WHICH THE GUILT OR INNOCENCE IS TRANSFERRED
FROM ONE PERSON (JESUS) TO ANOTHER (MAN). THE GUILT OR THE BAD ACTIONS OF
ONE PERSON IS ATTRIBUTED OR IMPUTED TO ANOTHER. SO THAT WHEN IT COMES TO
PUNISHMENT, THE PERSON WHO IS THE SUBSTITUTE BEARS THE BRUNT, AND THAT THE
PERSON SUBSTITUTED GOES AWAY FREE. This way God made reparations for our sins by transferring
them to Christ’s account as He hung on the cross at Calvary. THE ABSOLUTE SINLESS LIFE OF JESUS
CHRIST MAKES THIS TRANSACTION POSSIBLE AS HIS INNOCENCE IS TRANSFERRED TO
THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND FOLLOW HIM.

more than enough to set you free.

I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing
beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God
maketh from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:10)

Why Is Propitiation Necessary????

ATONEMENT
Obstacles to reconciliation with God are removed; through the
death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Atonement
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as
to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them
both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

get to know Him.
Admit your spiritual need.
We all are sinners: nobody likes that title “SINNER”, but the bible says in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of
God”.
What is the result of sin?
In Romans 6:23 we read “The wages of sin is death…” in other words, every sin is another step towards death. One thing that we need to
remember is that God never sends anyone to hell; one can send himself there by rejecting the truth.
Since we can never measure up to God’s standards by our own strength; God has reached out to mankind.
In Romans 5:8 we read, “God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. It is Jesus,
after all, who is the source of life’s greatest high.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be
saved.” (John 3:16-17).
What must a person do to accept this gift?
Most Importantly!!!!!

Simply receive it! Matthew 11:28 states –“come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon
you and learn from me…for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”.
Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine
with him, and he with me” Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, seeking entrance into your life to give you peace, change you for
the best. John 1:12 says: “For as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God”.
If you haven't already received Christ as your Saviour, don't put it off another day! Take time right now to reflect on the
state of your life, how does Romans 3:23 apply to you? Ask God to empower you to see the true state of your heart –
“The heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) then when
enabled, invite Jesus into your life. Confess your sins. Receive His forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. You might
pray something like this:
Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. Thank You for dying on the cross for my
sins. Thank You for giving me eternal life. Help me to live my life in a way that pleases You, for
whatever time You give me here on earth. I look forward to living forever in Heaven with You. Amen.
