1. How we attracted our
ideal audience member...

2. Our Actress
We used Sarah
Kurzrock, who is a
member or our
group, as our female
protagonist.
She was chosen
because she is pretty
and blonde and in
keeping with the
stereotype of
vulnerability this meant
that she looked
helpless, naïve and in
need of protection thus
hopefully attracting a
wider male audience
demographic.
Sarah is alone in all
shots implying isolation
and again, vulnerability.

3. The dark, blue-tinted
lighting for the
bathroom scene
created an intended
‘night-time’ look that
added to the action of
the shot.
This could also imply
that this scene is in
the girls imagination,
in her past or not
ever having happened
at all.
The sound of the tap
running showed it was
real, and then when
the blood is added
into the shot we hope
to build our audience
members curiosity
and have him asking
questions as to why
the blood is there…

4. All brick shots were
taken in the blacked-
out studio with
minimal lighting to
show the emptiness
and perhaps
hopelessness of what
the character is
feeling.
The point of the
bricks being built up
is to give an actual
visualisation of the
psychological
‘trapping’ going on
inside the girl’s
head, we hope this
would appeal to
anyone interested in
psychology.

5. Our ideal audience member is a 25-30
year old male interested in psychology in
some way and who likes the thrill of
suspense.
Older people in their 50’s are also a target
though. We hope to attract them to our
female character and to the theme of our
thriller which is psychological.
