• Born in 1902
• Brought up and schooled in Orphanage
• Get a degree in commerce
• joined Sunlife insurance Company in Canada As
a Clerk to chief executive
• After achieving highest sale in Mumbai he sent
to Karachi in 1929 to launch company’s branch
• He was first to get Charted Life Underwriter
(CLU) certificate in Asia

• After the success of Bristol he buy a cheap piece
of land in Karachi to build Beach Luxury Hotel

Overview of case:
• In 2010, Avari Group was approaching the end of six
decades of successful operations. While reflecting
• on Avari Group’s past successes, Byram D. Avari, the
Chairman, was also thinking about the
organization’s future.
• he was thinking about the dilemma he was facing
regarding the lifelong employment policy of Avari
Group
• due to low business opportunities and low growth in
Pakistan, most of the other five-star hotels were
reducing headcounts in their organizations

manage business related challanges
• Different options are available for the Avari to
resolve the problem:
• 1. Whether they provide retirement to the old
employees and revise their core values.
• how it was holding and keeping the sprit and
core values intact during a crisis.
• 2. Whether they cut off the salaries of the
employees for the time being to cope up this
situation.
5: Sugesstion of specefic actions
• For me 2nd option is better for them because core values are strengths of Avari
group
• They should grow their business in another cities of Pakistan
• Regular training of sale staff of competitor
• Discriminations between contract and Avari employees
• This is responsibility of the government to remove the concept of Contract
employees
• If Avari ads more facilities and services it can catch more market share

Avari, the Chairman, was also thinking about the organization’s future. • he was thinking about the dilemma he was facing regarding the lifelong employment policy of Avari Group • due to low business opportunities and low growth in Pakistan, most of the other five-star hotels were reducing headcounts in their organizations

Whether they provide retirement to the old employees and revise their core values. • how it was holding and keeping the sprit and core values intact during a crisis. • 2. Whether they cut off the salaries of the employees for the time being to cope up this situation.
  • 24. 5: Sugesstion of specefic actions • For me 2nd option is better for them because core values are strengths of Avari group • They should grow their business in another cities of Pakistan • Regular training of sale staff of competitor • Discriminations between contract and Avari employees • This is responsibility of the government to remove the concept of Contract employees • If Avari ads more facilities and services it can catch more market share
