Selenium and Joomla! open Source SECONF-2014Puneet Kala
Presentation of my Talk during Selenium World Conference 2014 Bangalore, India.
I spoke about how we started using Selenium in an open source project like Joomla! and what are the important lessons we have learnt during the journey.
Selenium is an open source tool and covers all the scenarios what licensed tool like QTP, IBM RFT or other available tools in market can do. Performance, execution speed and browser interaction of Selenium is too fast than any other automation tool. Unattended execution can be achieved using Selenium Framework. Selenium supports different operating systems along with support for different programming languages and browsers, these features makes the Selenium ahead of any other Automation tool.

Whether you're a software developer looking to enhance your testing procedures or simply curious about how tech giants ensure their products work seamlessly before launch, Selenium is a tool you should know about. As an open-source framework, it has become standard in automated testing and has numerous real-world applications.
The thought process of non technical person while approachingBugRaptors
Selection of tool during Automation testing is a very hard task and BugRaptor’s always ensures that the selected tool will satisfy all the technical and business aspects. To simplify this hard task, Bugraprtor’s test automation CoE takes precedence in leveraging Selenium as a tool of choice for automating web application testing.
As Selenium Testing is used in the domain of software testing and quality assurance, one must be aware of software testing discipline itself.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

AUTOMATION (selenium)
2. Introduction
Automation is the use of control systems and
information technologies reducing the need of human
invasion.
In the field of software testing , test automation
Test automation can automate some repetitive but
necessary tasks in a formalized testing process already
in place, or add additional testing that would be
difficult to perform manually.
3. Trends
Autolt which works only on windows and is not a
open source
eggPlant Functional works only on Windows,
Linux and OS X.
Selenium is one of the latest trends being used for
automation and testing .It is open source.
4. I think Selenium will make a big impact in
the coming years as it is an open source project.
Selenium is probably the best option for automated
testing of Websites today. It is becoming increasingly
popular and it is the first choice of automation testers
as well as organizations for automating the testing of
Web-based applications for both the GUI as well as
the functionality. Selenium can also be used as
a unit testing tool for JavaScript.
5. Interested Areas
I am interested in automation and testing and
would like to work in that field
I can work with selenium IDE and even with
selenium webdriver .
Automation can be used in many ways such as
controlling street lights (i.e. to switch them on and
off at a particular time) , automation can also be
used in companies to backup they data at the end
of each day.
6. Automation can also be used to on the servers and
turn them off instead of manually doing them.
I would like to do automation and testing using
selenium.
I believe that through automation one can use
they time in something more productive once a
code is automated one need not have to waste a lot
of time on doing the same work over and over
again.
