An automated deparaffinization and DNA extraction method using the QIAsymfony SP instrument and QIAGEN deparaffinization solution significantly improves the processing of FFPE tissue samples by reducing hands-on time and eliminating hazardous substances like xylene. The method yields high-quality DNA with purity ratios comparable to traditional methods while minimizing sample loss. Overall performance was validated through successful whole genome amplification and mutation detection via various PCR assays.
