Gamolan pekhing musical notation : Denoting musical sound in local styleRiyan Hidayatullah
There has been little research conducted, particularly on the notation system used in Indonesian
traditional music. Music notation is a dying type of written tradition; most local musicians are unaware
of the critical nature of recording musical works, let alone interacting through music notation as a medium.
The purpose of this paper is to examine the history and styles of written notation as local musicians in
Lampung, Indonesia, have practiced them. With a focus on notation's functions and implications. While
the issue is essential in and of itself, it also touches on broader concerns such as acculturation, the social
organization of performing artists, and the interface between oral and written tradition. Most importantly,
we must consider to what extent the usage of notation indicates shifting values and altered circumstances
of music learning in Lampung. The data are from a personal 2016-2017 investigation in Bandar Lampung.
The results indicated that the gamolan pekhing notation system still has flaws, most notably the inability to
comprehend rhythmic values denoted by written symbols. While notation is still beneficial for some
artists, it is not frequently comprehended by students during the learning process. It necessitates handson
instruction in order to educate the students.

An elderly Chinese woman carried two pots on a pole across her neck each day to fetch water - one pot was perfect while the other had a crack, causing it to only deliver half as much water. After two years, the cracked pot apologized for its imperfection but the woman revealed she had planted flowers along the cracked pot's side of the path, which it had watered each day, allowing her to decorate her home with beautiful flowers. She explained that it was the cracks in each person that make life rewarding.

Blogs have widened vistas in English L2 writing pedagogy for teachers and learners alike given their contextualizing and publishing capabilities. Such blog capabilities are often most fully realized through music video uploads, reproductions of art, and photography, and blog activities with such content may be ideal for learner writing. Indeed, while a body of literature exists for use of music in TEFL in terms of songs for listening or macro-skills classes, little has been written on the use of music or imagery in L2 writing pedagogy, making blog-based content with such material a potentially new and unexplored area for L2 writing research. This slide show is a continuation of the theme of an earlier presentation on the use of music as a platform for learner writing, and here I shall review how instrumental music, and examine how photographic images, may be used as bases for learner creative writing for contextualization and publication on blogs. It is my continued belief that such contextualizing and publishing L2 learner writing engages and motivates learners, and brings about a sense of class cohesion and community.

ARTISTIC CONCEPT OF GAMBYONG COLOSSAL DANCE IN FESTIVAL FORMAJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT : The "Colossal Gambyong Dance" Festival is one of the festivals created to foster a sense of
caring for an artistic heritage that leads to empowerment of the environment. The method used in this research is
the community service research method, with the aim of taking action on cultural preservation, developing
community MSMEs, embracing the younger generation to love art and develop creative ideas, and performing
arts and cultural festivals. By using this method, this Festival can be realized without fear of intersecting with
social changes in the community, because it still embraces the cultural values of the local community. The artistic
concept of the Gambyong Colossal Dance Festival uses a performance concept that utilizes rice fields after
harvest, bamboo and straw as an effort to utilize the environment and artistic value of the Festival. The result of
this research is an arts and cultural festival that carries the theme of nature and the environment by presenting the
"Colossal Gambyong Dance" Festival as a form of collaboration between artists, academics and the community.

Such stories ordinarily obtain from misleadingly straightforward trouble recall: everyday people.
