The Fault in Our Stars Trailer 
Audience Research 
Target audience for this movie is 13+ I collected this information from IMDB 
The trailer for this movie received 361,343 likes and 4,428 dislikes on Youtube the trailer was released on the 
29th of January 2014 on the 20th Century Fox account. 
The comments on the trailer were mostly positive, the audience are saying how they can relate to hazel grace 
the main character with her illness, a lot of people were asking if they should watch this movie asking for 
feedback from others. The trailer has 39,164 comments. 
The film has an official webs ite, twitter, facebook and instagram page: 
The website has an option for you to sign up which allows the website to inform you on new releases and 
special features and allows you to sign up to become a brand ambassador , you can also be redirected from 
the website to amazon where you can buy the DVD, see the soundtrack from the movie, photos and scrapbook 
have been created for the target audience. 
The social media sites post quotes from the movie, exclusive photos and videos from the actors who starred in 
the movie. 
The fan sites I looked at post images from the movie and have created their own pictures, they ask each other 
questions and post quotes from the actors. There’s options to follow the author of the book on one of the 
websites I have looked at. On one particular fan site I look at has 73,157 hits. 
I watched 2 reaction videos, 1 of which is teens reacting to the trailer a lot of the teens kept saying how much 
they want to see the movie and how cute the two actors were, they had mentioned how they wanted to cry 
but then a cute scene was shown so they didn’t, how the hero wasn’t a healthy character, how the movie 
makes them thankful for what they have and how everyone is the same even if they become sick. The YouTube 
account who makes these reaction videos got to speak to John Green the author of the book and speak about 
the movie and how the author liked the movie.

The Fault in Our Stars Trailer Audience Research Target audience for this movie is 13+ I collected this information from IMDB The trailer for this movie received 361,343 likes and 4,428 dislikes on Youtube the trailer was released on the 29th of January 2014 on the 20th Century Fox account. The comments on the trailer were mostly positive, the audience are saying how they can relate to hazel grace the main character with her illness, a lot of people were asking if they should watch this movie asking for feedback from others. The trailer has 39,164 comments. The film has an official webs ite, twitter, facebook and instagram page: The website has an option for you to sign up which allows the website to inform you on new releases and special features and allows you to sign up to become a brand ambassador , you can also be redirected from the website to amazon where you can buy the DVD, see the soundtrack from the movie, photos and scrapbook have been created for the target audience. The social media sites post quotes from the movie, exclusive photos and videos from the actors who starred in the movie. The fan sites I looked at post images from the movie and have created their own pictures, they ask each other questions and post quotes from the actors. There’s options to follow the author of the book on one of the websites I have looked at. On one particular fan site I look at has 73,157 hits. I watched 2 reaction videos, 1 of which is teens reacting to the trailer a lot of the teens kept saying how much they want to see the movie and how cute the two actors were, they had mentioned how they wanted to cry but then a cute scene was shown so they didn’t, how the hero wasn’t a healthy character, how the movie makes them thankful for what they have and how everyone is the same even if they become sick. The YouTube account who makes these reaction videos got to speak to John Green the author of the book and speak about the movie and how the author liked the movie.
