It uses a lone female protagonist, colour alterations, and split screen/montage editing to challenge conventions while appealing to the target audience. The representation of the female character as independent also challenges typical music video gender representations. Overall, the video aims to balance following genre conventions with some unconventional techniques.

Media technologies played an important role throughout the construction and evaluation of the music video project. Soundcloud was used to find the track, YouTube and Vimeo to research other music videos. Adobe Premier Pro was used to edit the video, altering colors, adding split screens, and syncing the music. A Canon camera filmed footage and a Lomokino was used to take photos with a softer focus. Photoshop edited prints, altering colors and layouts. Blogger hosted research, inspiration, and the final video, and feedback was gathered through YouTube comments, questionnaires, and social media.
