AT-002- Recent Work ACO-2
- 1. 2012 – 2013: Vanke City, Jilin City, Mixed-Use Project, Jilin Province, China, (in construction). I was Project Leader and the Design Director of a Mixed-Use project of 125,000 m2, in Jilin, in the North of China, with 25,000 m2 of retail. This project is the Phase III of a huge residential development of Vanke in this City. When completed, the total area of the project will be of 1,200,000 m2, more than 125 residential towers of 30 floors. This phase is now in construction, the office tower is going up. (See construction pictures). This project was not a competition. The developer wanted us to help him to clarify the program and to study different options of development. I leaded this project to all the process and its final completion. The major issue was the constant revision of the construction budget and the reduction of the program retail and office proportion, to adapt the project to the new reality of the market. (Phase I is in sale, phase II almost completed. Both have difficulty to fit the local demand). The challenge was to keep a good design quality for the given low budget, keeping the client standard.
