The purpose is to see what the vendor is reading and understanding from an RFP that you may have written. In this assignment, you will select a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the 4 RFP files located at the top of this assignment page, examine it carefully as though you were a contractor or vendor considering responding to the RFP to provide goods/services, and then reply to a series of questions below. After selecting one of the RFPs, carefully examine the RFP for content, thoroughness, and intent; then reply to all the questions. You will conduct your review from the vendor’s perspective. Your assignment should be 3-4 pages in length (in APA format) and should answer all of the following questions. You are not required to use additional sources, but if you use any, please cite them. 1. Focus of the Research Paper
This final research paper must demonstrate the understanding of new learning in the field of project management and how it relates to purchasing and supply management. V. Projected Timeline – Provide a timeline for the project, to be completed no later May 1, 2018. Tasks should include any preliminary activity needed for getting permissions (if needed), data gathering, data analysis, report writing, presentation preparation, and anything else that would form a significant part of the work needed to complete the project.

15.5 Writing Requests for Proposals
When writing an RFP, be sure to give potential respondents all the information they need in order to craft a meaningful response to your request.
At some point in your career, you might be the one receiving proposals, and learning how to request effective proposals will simplify the process considerably. Various organizations handle RFPs in different ways. When writing an RFP, remember that it is more than just a request; it’s an informational report that provides potential bidders with the information they need to craft effective proposals. Writing an RFP demands careful consideration because it starts a process that leads to a proposal, a contract, and eventually the delivery of a product or the performance of a service. In other words, mistakes at the RFP stage can ripple throughout the process and create costly headaches for everyone involved.
An RFP’s specific content will vary widely from industry to industry, but all RFPs should include some combination of the following elements:9
Company background. Give potential bidders some background information on your organization, your business priorities, and other information they might need in order to respond in an informed manner.
Project description. Put your requirements in context; are you seeking bids for routine supplies or services, or do you need a major computer system?
Requirements. The requirements section should spell out everything you expect from potential vendors; don’t leave anything to unstated assumptions. Will potential vendors provide key equipment, or will you? Will you expect vendors to work under confidentiality restrictions, such as a nondisclosure agreement? Who will pay if costs run higher than expected? Will you require ongoing service or support? Providing this information can be a lot of work, but again, overlooking anything at this point is likely to create considerable problems once the project gets rolling.

This final research paper must demonstrate the understanding of new learning in the field of project management and how it relates to purchasing and supply management. When writing an RFP, be sure to give potential respondents all the information they need in order to craft a meaningful response to your request.
At some point in your career, you might be the one receiving proposals, and learning how to request effective proposals will simplify the process considerably. Various organizations handle RFPs in different ways. When writing an RFP, remember that it is more than just a request; it’s an informational report that provides potential bidders with the information they need to craft effective proposals. Writing an RFP demands careful consideration because it starts a process that leads to a proposal, a contract, and eventually the delivery of a product or the performance of a service. In other words, mistakes at the RFP stage can ripple throughout the process and create costly headaches for everyone involved.
An RFP’s specific content will vary widely from industry to industry, but all RFPs should include some combination of the following elements:9
Company background. Give potential bidders some background information on your organization, your business priorities, and other information they might need in order to respond in an informed manner.
Project description. Put your requirements in context; are you seeking bids for routine supplies or services, or do you need a major computer system?
Requirements. The requirements section should spell out everything you expect from potential vendors; don’t leave anything to unstated assumptions. Will potential vendors provide key equipment, or will you? Will you expect vendors to work under confidentiality restrictions, such as a nondisclosure agreement? Who will pay if costs run higher than expected? Will you require ongoing service or support? Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students.
