- 3. HALF WORLDSThe delicate blue railing at the centre separates the site into two worlds. The ever-flowing river on one end nourishes the land it circulates, allowing it to prosper and develop as the tall buildings bear testimony to the situation. On the other side of the railing, the bare conditions of the land is indicated by the dying state of the tall structures.
- 4. DEPENDENCYOld telephone posts, equipped with internet cables, stand amongst the old residences of Chow Kit. A number of residences are connected to a single pole, constantly depending on it for telecommunication connection, thus proving that connectivity is an essential necessity of the society. Similar comparisons can be drawn between the cables in Chow Kit and water in Calvino’s perceived cities, as both resources are crucial for their respective communities to function and “survive”.
