•NO JUDGEMENT
• Limited sign vocab
• Frequent production errors
• Production often incomprehensible
• Nonexistent grammar structure
• Communicate simple ideas
• Lacks prosody/use of space
Level One
• Basic sign vocab
• Lack of fluency
• Hesitation in signing
• Frequent grammar errors
• Basic sentence are intact
Level Two – Advanced Beginner
• Basic sign vocab, lack
technical/complex vocab
• Fairly fluent, some prosody
• Sign production=some errors, but
does not skew message
• Grammar- OK for simple language
Level Three- Intermediate
• Broad use of vocab
• Sign production= generally correct
• Strategies for dealing with unknown
vocab
• Prosody is good, NMM are good
• Fluency *may* deteriorate if
material is complex.
Level Four – Advance Intermediate
• Broad and fluent use of vocabulary
• broad range of strategies for
communicating new words and
concepts.
• Sign production errors minimal;
never interfere with comprehension
• Prosody is correct
• Complex grammar not a problem
