This document describes new pier-based ocean monitoring platforms developed by the Long Bay Hypoxia Monitoring Consortium. The platforms aim to address issues with traditional standpipe deployments, including biofouling, microenvironment effects, and sensor drift. The new designs use anchors, cables, and surface sleds/counterweights to maintain sensors at consistent depths without pipes. Field tests found the new 'zipline' method reduced sensor uncertainty compared to standpipes.
