CDOT's NGN product which facilitate a smooth migration of the present Switched Circuit Network of BSNL to a core
packet network to be deployed as an overlay transit network with full transparency of existing services. It provide
basic telephony Class 5 services as well as advanced multimedia services.Class-5 SoftSwitch is based on SIP (Session
Initialtion protocol).The SIP is an IETF-defined signalingprotocol, widely used for controlling multimedia
communication sessions such asvoice and video calls over Internet Protocol (IP). The protocol can be used
