This document presents a case of a 65-year-old male with ascites likely due to alcoholic liver disease. He presented with abdominal distension, fatigue, leg swelling, breathlessness, and jaundice. Examination found abdominal distension, shifting dullness, fluid thrill and other signs of ascites. Lab tests and fluid analysis supported alcoholic cirrhosis as the cause. Treatment included dietary changes, diuretics, and therapeutic paracentesis for fluid removal and management of complications from ascites.
