(1) We are going to have breakfast.

The future can be expressed in different ways:

3. FUTURE TENSES
We use will for decisions made at the moment of speaking
(1), offers (2), promises (3) and predictions (4).
(1) The weather is very hot, I’ll open the window.
(2) I’ll close the door for you.
(3) I promise I’ll buy you a new robot.
(4) Someday people will travel to other planets.

4. FUTURE TENSES
We use the present continuous for future arrangements
(usually when time is mentioned).

5. FUTURE TENSES
We use the present simple for timetables (1) and after
when, before, etc. (2).
(1) School starts at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning.
